Unban Appeal for Bryn Clark

In-game Name: Bryn Clark

Server: GTA RP

Steam ID: 76561198799614917

Ban ID: !!rpuk12872!!

Reason given for your ban: C2.3 (Combat Logging) and G2.11

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I was banned for G2.11, which is a rule prohibiting any erotic roleplay from occuring. In this particular scenario, I told a previous leader of Triads some disgusting and completely inappropriate words which directly breach this rule. I will not directly quote what I have said as some reading this appeal may find it inappropriate and disturbing. Furthermore, I was also banned for G2.3, I am unsure as to exactly why this was added to my punishment.

Why should we unban you ?: Firstly, I would like to discuss my G2.11 rulebreak.

I take full responsibility for my words in the incident that lead to my ban. After being spoken to with staff and reading through the rules I have realised it was completely inappropriate and stupid thing to say, and I understand why it is now strictly prohibited to say within the community. I am ashamed for it to be something I thought would be funny to say. In the past month, my mindset has changed and I want to genuinely apologise for my wrongdoing. To those who I may have directly affected with my words, I am sorry. Upon joining the community it has never been my goal to say things that could negatively impact people or upset them OOC. I want to provide good and high quality roleplay. Throughout the course of my ban, I have reflected on my actions and have made sure to thoroughly read through the rules. If given the chance to return to RPUK, I will take steps to ensure that incidents similar to the one that led to my ban, or any other that involves breaching the server regulations, will not happen again.

If given a second chance here on RPUK, I will aspire to provide good roleplay that leaves a good, joyful impression to new, or existing players or even anyone who may be watching through external means such as Twitch. Since my ban I have realised I enjoy talking to other members of the community and the roleplay I take part in throughout my experience. This has made me realise how much I miss playing on your servers, and that my ban has allowed me to realise what I have said and how it may have affected those involved, and those spectating. Again, I would like to apologise to anyone affected by my words.

I truly hope you find it in your heart to give me another chance so I can continue my story as Bryn Clark, and show how I have changed in terms of understanding roleplay that breaches G2.11 is prohibited and that I can bring quality and fun roleplay to the server. I do miss the server and wish to come back.

Additionally, I would like to add that I am unsure as to how I have broken the C2.3 rule. I have previously opened a ticket in attempt to find out what I may have done wrong, however I wasn't given an answer. I am hoping you can shed some light as to why this rule was added to my ban.

Thank you for reading. Bryn.

Please confirm that you have read the unban appeal process and rules: Yes

Good afternoon, Bryn.

After being spoken to with staff and reading through the rules I have realised it was completely inappropriate and stupid thing to say
During your chat with 2 staff members on the roof before you ban was pushed, you did not fully agree that a ban was fair and did not give any impressions that you thought what you had said was wrong as there was a discussion about it between you and the staff before the ban. What has caused this to change?

I am unsure as to how I have broken the C2.3 rule
The same day of which your ban was pushed you had been shot and downed within roleplay.
What do you think could possibly link to this death which would be causing you to breach rule C2.3?

Good afternoon, and thank you for your response.

What has caused this to change?
In the past month whilst I have been banned, I have had time to think through my actions and discuss them with other members of the community. This has led me to understand the severity of the circumstance and why it is not accepted within this community anymore. I do now fully agree that this ban is justified and completely understand why the words I said that day is strictly not permitted within the server.

The same day of which your ban was pushed you had been shot and downed within roleplay.
What do you think could possibly link to this death which would be causing you to breach rule C2.3?
I recall a situation where I was shot and downed by a member of 229 during a fight they had with Aztecas. In this moment my internet went down and I followed the procedure of informing staff of this issue. I asked 1A3 to pass the message on. The next day, I spawned in alive and didn't do /die - looking back at this situation, I should have done this and I regret my actions. Later that day I logged off after having UI issues. I'm assuming this is the situation that warrants a C2.3 ban?

Doing /die after reconnecting and spawning in alive (when you're supposed to be incapacitated) is important for maintaining fair gameplay and not negatively impacting another individual's roleplay experience. It provides me with an unfair advantage because, if I was in an area where I wouldn't be found, I would've respawned and lost my items. Although I wasn't, I now understand the importance of continuing the roleplay that was previously left behind in my previous session on the server.

Hello there @Bryn Clark

Quite honestly, what I am reading here sounds more like "I am sorry I got caught and am now telling you what I think you want to hear" than a genuine understanding and remorse for your own actions. You have been warned twice before about this kind of rp and I´ve got at least one additional incident of you going down this path of rp, apart from this one. Simple question: Why? You keep on going back to rape rp, knowing very well how it is perceived.

It looks to me and many others like you are just trying to be edgy, looking for reactions. Now you´ve gotten one, but you don´t like it. What are we gonna do with you?

I'm not saying what I think you want to hear. I am expressing my regret and apologies for my actions. I am now genuinely ashamed of the words that came out of my mouth that day, not only because it breaches the server rules, but also because I now understand how it could negatively impact the mental state of other people within the community as they may consider RPUK to be a safe place. Players may also rely on your servers to distract themselves from any traumatic experiences and temporarily escape reality. As a result, this type of roleplay could create an uncomfortable environment for them, ruining their ideology of this community being a safe place they can rely on to escape trauma. Although this topic hasn't personally affected me or my friends, it is something that could be sensitive to others and I now understand why it is important to filter out this behaviour.

Why? You keep on going back to rape rp, knowing very well how it is perceived.
Firstly, I would like to specify that the incident I have been banned for was not directly rape RP - however I do understand how it falls under this rule. I was banned for something said through voice chat. Why did I say it? I thought it would be a funny thing to say in a private space where myself and another longstanding member of the community were shit talking one another. With no impact on my life with this topic in the past, it didn't cross my mind how it could negatively affect other people mentally and how a comment could trigger reactions such as panic or anxiety attacks. After thinking my actions through and constantly thinking back to the situation, I see how my comment was inappropriate. This ban has been a wake-up call to me, and has led me to realise the implications of my words and how they can impact others.

What are we gonna do with you?
I find it difficult to show the full remorse I have for my actions and how I understand where I went wrong through words on a screen. And because of that, I can only say that I will prove to you I have changed if given the chance to return to RPUK: I will not take part in this roleplay or give the slightest hint towards anything surrounding the sensitive topic. I am aware of how my words breached the rules and am also trying to show my full understanding of why this type of behaviour is unacceptable on your servers. I would like to show this understanding by continuing the story of my character without this type of roleplay being used, and prove to you that I have changed.

Evening @Bryn Clark,

The choice of clothing your character had on during the night you got banned.
Please explain it to me?
Is this a well known outfit of your character?
Does the outfit have a certain name to it?

It is a minion outfit which my character has frequently used since Hustlers created it as a disguise for different heists we did in the past, including Life Invader and the bank robbery. There's no specific use for it at all, and is simply an outfit I use on my Bryn Clark character. Many people associate the minion costume with the Hustlers, however yes, it is a well known outfit that my character frequently wears while I do erotic rp.

Does the outfit have a certain name to it?
Not anything specific - just what it genuinely is: a minion costume.

Good afternoon @Bryn Clark,

it is a well known outfit that my character frequently wears while I do erotic rp.
May I ask you to elaborate on this slightly, as I have heard this outfit be referred to as something completely different.

I have one big concern regarding this appeal as a whole. You were spoken to in admin sit after your comments were made in game this night.
During the sit, you were completely disagreeing with both Admins and had even mentioned that you do not fully believe the ban was justified, even after they had explained to you the reasons as to why this would be placed upon yourself.

You then after being banned, had gone into a discord chat and asked people there if your ban for XYZ was justified to which multiple people had told you that you could get banned for the comments you had made.

All I would like from this, is to ensure that you really have thought about what is said and to give me a good enough reason to let you back onto the server knowing you have learned from the mistakes made over this last month as you appear to have made a massive mindset change during the duration of this ban.

Some examples of the names some people have used for the minion costume in the past are 'rapist minion' and 'rape outfit'. I can assure you that following the rule changes I have only called it a minion costume. I would like to say that I didn't call it anything other than a minion costume before the G2.11 rule was introduced, however I can not say for certain. These nicknames which now violate the G2.11 rule for the costume were not created by me, and I never planned for it to be widely referred to as this. I understand that people may have began using these terms more often as a result of my ERP whilst wearing this outfit, and the negative effect it could have on both new and existing members of the community.

During the sit, you were completely disagreeing with both Admins and had even mentioned that you do not fully believe the ban was justified
At the time, I was being honest with them. Would you want me to lie in an attempt to escape the ban? At the time I didn't think I did anything wrong, and wasn't aware of the different implications references to the topic could have amongst the community. Being banned and discussing the punishment with friends has allowed me to gain a deeper insight into the reason as to why this rule was added. I can only apologise for the disagreement that happened and how I failed to have an effective conversation in the duration of the admin sit.

had gone into a discord chat and asked people there if your ban for XYZ was justified
Yes, as I have highlighted I discussed the punishment with friends. This allowed me to begin to understand how the words that came out of my mouth that day were completely inappropriate and will never positively impact the server. After lengthy conversations and further thoughts about my actions and the G2.11 rule itself, I have came to understand the importance of this rule because it protects people in the community and creates a welcoming atmosphere for all people to call a safe space.

learned from the mistakes made over this last month
Over the past two months I have developed a deeper understanding into the reasons this rule has been put in place and why this type of roleplay is unacceptable and frowned upon within the community. As I have already said, this ban has been a wake-up call to me, expressing the importance of this rule to me and why such roleplay is strictly prohibited on your servers.

All I would like from this, is to ensure that you really have thought about what is said and to give me a good enough reason to let you back onto the server
All I can say is I truly apologise for my actions and do hope you give me a another chance here on RPUK. I would love to rebuild the trust between myself and the staff team, and prove that I have changed and can perform high quality roleplay for myself and others to enjoy. I miss roleplaying with the other members of the community, and the many interactions I would come across every day.

Can you open a Discord ticket, link your appeal and be patient please? 🙂

Alright @Bryn Clark

I discussed with @Danooand @Jessie Bennettin regards to your voice chat with them.

As it stands, we sadly don't believe you when you told us your age due to "I am eig-... 20 mate".

We don't know your true age and we know for a fact that you're not the age that you say you are, and it seems that you don't wish to discuss this with us which is true or not.

Unfortunately,

your ban will be upgraded to PEGI and you will be eligible to appeal 01/08/2024
