In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: Having read the ban reason, I was banned for combat logging. After some consideration I understand I had combat logged at the time of being incapacitated, an act which breaks the atmosphere of role-play. Simply put, I didn’t fully appreciate the severity of doing so at the time, I logged out simply as a means to not have to sit in a timer, I appreciate this isn’t an excuse, it's simply the reasoning behind a foolish action - one that I won’t be repeating.

Why should we unban you ?: At the time, I was fairly new to Roleplay and still am, however, I’ve done some research online, primarily investing more time into watching YouTube videos on similar servers to understand how I should act when interacting with other players. I’ve also become aware of some Roleplay friendly ways to log out aside from just making sure I’m not engaged in a RP situation, such as going to a bar and “Renting a room for the night”, or “catching a flight”.

I have been discussing OOC with a friend who plays on the server, I have been reminded of the impact that combat logging can have on other player’s experiences as well as my own. With this in mind, I am going to be conscious of ensuring that when I do log out, to make sure that I am not in a roleplay situation, ensuring that I won’t be accidentally logging out on other players again. It goes without saying, I will not be logging out again whilst incapacitated as I now appreciate the wider impact of doing so.

I have a friend who plays on RPUK and has engaged and established some great relationships on the server via roleplay, and should I be unbanned and allowed to re-join the server, this is something I’d like to mirror.

Whilst I haven’t got a concrete RP plan established, I know I’d like to link up with my friend, who plays as an Older Aged Pensioner, potentially as their grandson or carer - they currently rely on the likes of taxiing, the drug-trade and person-to-person interactions to make their money and it is my expectation I will be aiding them in doing so and by accompanying them, we expect to further expand each other’s RP experience whilst also enriching that of those we meet a long the way.

I would potentially be interested in joining a gang in the future, however, I am yet unsure how they operate on RPUK, what gangs there are to join and who the members are - however I hope to uncover all of this via RP. I am committed to establishing an enriched RP experience.

I'd like to thank you for the effort behind this appeal, it goes a long way and certainly helps the process massively!
One thing I've noticed you've not covered here, is as to why you had combat logged? Would you mind telling me the reason behind your actions?

Hi Danoo,

I hope you're doing well and I appreciate your time to read my appeal.

I can most certainly cover that. At the time, I didn't appreciate what it meant, in a Roleplay situation that is, to be incapacitated. I believed it to be similar to other games in which you can be revived or respawn - I now appreciate that this isn't the case. You can respawn, but only after a timer - a timer that allows other players to interact with you should they want to, but also places more emphasis on the notion of dying in the game.

I can't perfectly recall the event, but I remember being tired and having died I thought I'd log off, and log back on sometime later or in a few days when my friends were likely to be online and to continue as a fresh spawn.

Having delved into the research mentioned above and with the conversations I've had with my friend who plays on RPUK, I'm now fully aware that the reason for the 15-minute timer is so that not only do we have the potential to maintain our characters and all of their memories within that 'lifetime', but it means we can interact with other players who can potentially escort us to hospital, to interact with the NHS and medical staff who can give us aid or even those who would seek to do us harm in our vulnerable position - all valid and interesting approaches.

Let me know if you have any more questions. In short, I think the time I've had away from the server during the cooldown has allowed me to educate myself on how to properly conduct myself in an RP environment such as this, not only for my benefit but also for other players.

If you think it's right I welcome you to wipe my profile as punishment and I will start anew.

A punishment does not need to be you starting fresh, but if that's what you're requesting we can delete your character 'James Allan' so you begin a fresh start if you're given the chance to return. Just please confirm in your next response if you'd like this to go ahead or not.

It does appear you've done a lot of digging into this since being banned which is nice to see, and a lot of effort has been put in to this appeal.
I'd like to know your plan if you're able to return to the server...

What character(s) would you be looking to play?
What fun/interesting roleplay could you bring to the server?

Haha, thanks for the kind words regarding my PFP. It is the only image on my computer as I use it as my GeoGuessr profile picture.

If given a chance to return, I would like to start completely fresh so I would like to be character-wiped if possible.

As I am still somewhat inexperienced, for the time being, I would shadow my friend who roleplays as an OAP on the server. I will generate a new character as their grandson aiding him in his elderly mischief. 

I don't have a solid or interesting plan for what I want to do on the server, as of yet. I believe at this time I will let the roleplay write the story for me as it would allow me to explore the different opportunities and follow a path I see fit for my character.

It is likely in the future once I become more knowledgeable in the RPUK world that I will create a much more interesting and unique character.

The effort and time you've put behind this appeal is refreshing, you've answered all of my questions nicely and it's filled me with a lot of confidence.
This is currently the only ban you hold on record so I do want to give you another chance on the server to prove yourself and I do believe you've managed to learn a lesson from this ban.

Please, do not waste your chance and throw it back in my face.
