Unban Appeal - bhoppinbdon - GTA RP

Server: GTA RP
Character Name: Johan Lesmer
Steam ID: 76561199013840278
Ban ID (just the numbers): 18473
Ban Reason: C2.3
Why do you think you were banned: I was banned for leaving the game whilst in combat, and was thus punished appropriately.
Why should we unban you: First Appeal:

I would like to take time to apologise for breaking the rule, “C2.3” and for combat logging. I’m fully aware that these rules are in place to keep the server fair, and I’d like to wholeheartedly take full responsibility for my actions. Reflecting upon this, I understand I made a bad decision, and I regret how it affected the roleplay experience for others.

It wasn’t my plan to disrupt the RP server or cause any issues with players, but I do understand that my actions went against the rules, and that’s 100% my fault. I’ve taken the time to reflect upon what I’ve done and grow individually, and I can assure you, any other players in RP, that it won’t happen again.
Moving on, I’ll make sure to follow all the rules of the server properly, and engage in roleplay the correct way.

I really enjoy being part role play, and have many friends who play on this server, I have grown to deeply respect the work the staff puts in – having gained some volunteering and work experience myself – to keep everything running soundly. I appreciate the staff taking the time to read my appeal, and I hope I can prove that I’ve learned from my mistake, and create a positive role play experience in future.

Thanks you for your time, patience, and consideration.
Please confirm that you have read the unban appeal process and rules: Yes

Good afternoon Snuffles, I hope you are well.

Following my ban, I felt at the time that it was unfair because I had no idea about rule C2.3, and upon being given a one month timeout proceeding this, I got ahead of myself and disregarded logic in place of my feelings.

I realise, surely, now that this was vehemently immature on my part, and I’ve grown significantly since then. Not only have I revised the rules, for other servers I’ve played since, and this one, but I’ve reflected upon my first appeal, and the actions succeeding it since then.

I hope that this is a solid justification for my actions, and if it is not, I understand.

Finally, I’d like to mention that my respect for others, especially the time of those who do volunteering work has matured drastically.

Once more, I apologise for being out of line.

I hope this finds you well,
Brandon

Surely you'd familiarize yourself with the rules before you play on a new roleplay server? So, how come you didn't know about rule C2.3?

Good evening Snuffles, I hope you’re well.

I wasn’t clear in my last response, apologies: RPUK was my first role play server. My friends were my main motivator in signing up to play, as they play on the server, and have tons of fun. Wanting me to be included, they gave me the general run down of what to do, and what not to do. Clearly, however, I should’ve looked deeper into the rules, and scoped it out for myself.

Being my first role play experience, I was naive, and thought that logging off when no one was on after being hit by an NPC car with no one around and I was exhausted would be fine, unknown to me, this falls under a rule I wasn’t aware of, as we are both familiar; combat logging.

I’ve played on multiple servers since then, including other large servers such as HighLife RP, and was even a donator there – I had lots of fun on it. I do, however, miss the fun I had on RPUK, and do wish to correct my errors here, being a more RP experienced person.

I think that being let back into RPUK would be a net positive, as I’m certain that I would never break rule C2.3 again, and likely, never break a rule again, as I’ve had months to get used to RP, and the Do’s and Don’ts.

Thank you for your time and effort so far!

Good afternoon once again Snuffles, I hope you are well, and thank you for your consistent effort with my appeal.

Rule C2.3 flexes the disciplinary system regarding exploiting, more specifically, logging out during, or even outwith RP, or simply when incapacitated, and awaiting help. If you are to log out whilst waiting for a paramedic, or the police, or being detained; any RP scenario like this, even simply ragequitting, it will result in a permanent ban, with a 1-month cool-down. This can affect other players’ RP experience, as it can deprive not only medics of their RP, but others around me, and outwith my case, the people detaining/RPing with me.

If I were to find myself in the same situation as I was previously, assuming no one is around as it was before, I would wait out my timer and wait to log off until all RP scenarios have exhausted themselves, and leave the city when it is suitable. This would avoid causing trouble for not only staff, but myself, and other people trying to have a posterior RP experience.

Thank you for your continuous effort.
