In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I was removed from the community due to actions that I believe were totally negligent, pathetic, and immature. In the evening of the 14th July 2020 I drunkenly and stupidly replied to a string of group snapchat messages that at that time were discussing specifically the Altis Life police faction gold command and some petty grievances they had with them as a whole. This group chat had maybe 8-10 people in it that had all met each through RPUK and would normally share sometimes amusing ,mundane life events in the chat.
At around 10pm at the pub I decided to drunkenly chime in with the following remark which i don't believe and find totally immature of myself to this day regularly fail to fathom why I thought that saying it would be appropriate. *Discussion about gold command from other people* I reply with "Nonces innit" "I rep green and matt" (Referring to fellow members of the police gold command at the time). With myself being in a senior lead role within the police and setting an example to the other people in this group chat who are members of the community i can see completely why you felt that I was unfit for the community. It was something I never should have said and was against everything I believe in, I’m not one of these toxic types and never have been, I have never had the chance to reach out to players I called "nonces" and deeply regret what I sent in that group chat which, they put large amounts of hours into forging the faction to what it was and I believe still is to this day, they didn’t deserve that whatsoever.
Another utterly stupid lapse of judgement was the fact I also operated a discord server with multiple members of the community within it (99% from the NCA[National crime agency faction]). This server was initially called the "NCA Discord" (With myself being the person in charge for 25 people within this unit) - It was made for the sole purpose of trying to be more effective within the altis life server allowing for better communication between the members as prior to this we had different training groupchats and just 2 channels within the main official rpuk discord server. The intention of this glorified group chat from the get-go was never malicious or as an attack against the roleplay.co.uk community. It was simply to make us a stronger group of “mates”. In my eyes and to the others that joined, it was as a space to discuss operations and plans spreading ideas and as a way to notify the correct individuals quickly for meetings and so on using @"Training team" for example.
With the emergence of FiveM, that all of us loved, I found it as a good way to get more people on at the push of an alert and setup a role for large amounts of people to pop the server for races, events and car meets. However, with this I got carried away and made other channels for CSGO and SQUAD which we again would use for a close knit group of 4-5 of us to invite each other with. I or anyone ever had the intention of using this in a negative way whatsoever and never would have. However i soon realised what i had created, a server built on the trust of others to stay civil and act like adults, I found that a few had decided to take their grievances into the chatrooms of the server and rant about rpuk politics, something I was not interested in deemed pathetic and not the place to talk about such matters (which drives me round the bend everytime I think about what I said in the groupchat, knowing that what I said was not a true reflection on my personality whatsoever). I swiftly banned the player and issued a mass message to everyone there regarding how I wanted the server to be used as a few “undesirables” had started to join. I can provide some screenshots if you would like.
In pure complacency, I had essentially created an unofficial discord server which breached the advertising guidelines of RPUK, something which deep down I was aware of as Aiden had approached a few weeks earlier questioning the nature of the discord which was essentially a sort your crap out which I failed to listen to. Simply changing the name of the server to the following "A Discord server for a non-linked group of people" - Utterly stupid. I had the chance to avoid all this mess and carried on thinking I was above this rule because I was using it for was fine because I was using it for what I thought was a harmless purpose.
Why should we unban you ?: First of all I would like to deeply apologise to the entirety of altis police gold command, which I deemed once as close friends of mine, the RoleplayUK community and especially Aiden, another fellow friend which I hope to apologise to, for messing you around and causing all this mess which I solely caused. What I said via snapchat was not a true reflection of me and is not who I am, i should've taken the hint at what they were talking about and left, i didnt. A few people urged me to appeal in July and I did in fact make another account but felt like I was not ready and needed to take a break especially after coronavirus and spend some more time with my girlfriend and family.
I had been a member of the RPUK community since the summer of 2016 and had met a load of people, some of which I then also met at Uni where I currently am now. I have massively reflected on who I am as a person and I like to think I have matured as a person quite a bit over the last 6 months focusing further on university and actually getting out a bit more going Cold water swimming, surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Ive also been working on my degree as a product designer, sinking hundreds of hours in CAD and surface / solid modelling which has become a new time drain during lockdown.
I loved my time at RPUK and have spent thousands of hours on your servers building friendships that I managed to rip away on a dodgy night at spoons and with a few pints. Consistently for about 3 years I led a large group of people making interesting scenarios and being a stable friendly face in the faction with fun roleplay events and in depth operations and investigations.
When GTARP / FiveM came about I loved the fact that I could try things that I never could do with Altis, allowing for so much more interesting and diverse encounters. In the early stages I ran regular car meet ups, races and events dragging people to come to underground meetups where myself and a few others I had met would be ready staging an “illegal streetrace”. If I were to be unbanned I aim to delve further into this character and do what I set out to do, bringing races, car meets and meeting new people which was a brilliant thing to do as everyone was new and never knew what kind of person you were going to run into.
I should have listened to Aidens advice at the time, I didn’t and I am not surprised looking back on it where I ended up. I was ignorant and just stupid. I can guarantee that if I was given the opportunity to return nothing like this would happen. I would really like to show that I’m quite a nice guy.
