Reason given for your ban: C2.2

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: I was banned due to cuffing whilst the person wasn't at a disadvantage, resulting in what is known as "Combat Cuffing". This falls under the C2.2 exploit rule.

Why should we unban you ?: I've been banned due to cuffing inappropriately which I am now aware you can only cuff if they are on the floor or with their hands up at a disadvantage. I've taken this time out to review the training I received as police and also revisited the server rules.

I've become police to further my Roleplay on this server, not only to have for myself but also to provide a quality Roleplay experience for others. I understand that interaction wasn't fun for both parties as cuffing in the manner I did it created an unfair advantage for myself and was rightly deemed an "exploit". I promise I did not mean any malice behind this I am still in my probation period as a Police officer and took this as a learning experience.

If I'm allowed back I will ensure not to use cuffing to my advantage and allow the Roleplay to play out accordingly. We all make mistakes it's how you correct them that makes the difference. I hope you can see by my appeals I'm serious about returning the server which I enjoy playing and agree if these rules were not in place the community could quickly turn into a mess.

I would like to join back not only to fix and show improved Roleplay as a police officer but also on my criminal character which I've been developing for months now. I've also missed the opportunity to help my gang in many scenarios whilst away so this has truly been a punishment.

I appreciate the staff for reading this appeal and I would like the person who was affected by my exploit to know it won't happen again.

Much better appeal this time around, You may be new to being a Police Officer but you are taught in training not to Combat Cuff.

Why did you do this?

Do you always want to win with leaving no room to wiggle for the other party?

Side note, where do you see yourself going in the Police?

 
After becoming a "probie," I realised that the job is much more difficult to do because many people resort to violence fairly quickly.
As a result, gaining control of a situation can be extremely difficult at times.
In this case, the suspect continued to walk out of the cell even though it was locked in my eyes; rather than confronting him in the cell area, which I thought would be very unprofessional, I cuffed and returned him.
Unfortunately, I approached the cuffing incorrectly and must abide by what I learned in training. 

To be honest, I want to get my taser and work as a constable.
I intend to play the role of this level of officer to the best of my ability.
I don't want to win in every situation because that would become boring quickly, similar to cheating.
That does not appeal to me.
I made a mistake here and used it as a learning opportunity; training exists to avoid situations like this.
Because this is both a serious roleplay server and a game, leaving room for the party is the best way to ensure that everyone has a good time.

 
Whilst yes, being a Probationary Officer is quite hard as you don't have the same tools that the other Police Officers have such as Taser and a Firearm, and I will admit...a lot of people on the server do resort to violence fairly quickly no matter their roleplaying job (Crim, Mechanic, Taxi etc).

Had you tackled the suspect then cuffed in both scenarios, that wouldn't have been Combat Cuffing (C2.2), and you wouldn't have been reported. It is stated in your training to only ever cuff a suspect if:

  • Hands are raised (Compliant)
  • Tackled
  • Tased
  • Downed



Can you quote the rule you broke ( C2.2 ), explain it in your own words and tell me why we have this rule in place

 
I broke the C2.2 by combat cuffing, which means I cuffed them whilst they weren't at a disadvantage such as "Hands Raised". By doing so, I exploited this situation, which is precisely why such rules are in place to ensure that everyone has a fair chance. In this scenario, if the C2.2 rule wasn't in place, I could just cuff anyone at any time, which isn't realistic and makes for a poor roleplay experience.

 
Okay, I am willing to give you another chance. You've got a few notes and one other historic ban. I can see with the effort that you're putting in that you do want to be a part of this community.
