Reason given for your ban: Blackmailing people with reports in order to gain items ingame.

In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.: After the incident [CLIP.1] with Ollie Bux [ID:437] on the 1st September 2022 breaching the rule (G2.4) Value of Life. I have left monies down, lost for time and deflated by the common occurrence of players refusing to RP accordingly at dodgy doctors, established or not.

I called Ollie Bux ID [437] into police liaison with the hope of resolving the situation without having to result to forums.

It is important to note upon the initial advice by admins whom I understand wouldn't admit, parties can agree on compensation and sort it out amongst themselves. After that advice, several incidents occurred with players NVL's and refusing to drop their possessions. Instead of constant forum posts, we would sort out compensation and continue RP. This was always acknowledged by admins.

Despite this, I was given contradictory advice by admins in the liaison with Ollie BUX [ID:437].

Ollie BUX [ID:437] contacted me privately apologizing for the incident and made me aware of his ban status. Knowing this, I didn't want to report the incident as Ollie BUX [ID 437] would presumably get Perm banned again. We had a private discord call where we discussed the situation, and he agreed to compensate the valued item we should have received if the foul play never occurred (pump shotgun).

He would then leave the item in a vehicle, and I would pick it up.

By trying to avoid this very thing and ignoring recent admin advice I broke multiple rules, and I'm fully aware. The saying goes "two wrongs don't make a right" and how fitting that is. I'm not here to break rules, I'm here to Role-play to the best of my capabilities and have fun. The rules I broke I feel were:
(G3.1) "OOC Information" This was because me and ID 437 Ollie BUX had talked over discord and had agreed I would get the shotgun as compensation, therefore I used OOC information to dictate future RP.

(C1.8) Forcing or encouraging another member of the community to break a rule, This was when me and Ollie Agreed to meet in city over discord, I do accept my part in the situation as I'm sure ollie accepts his part also.

Why should we unban you ?: I can assure you I will not be taking this "private call" approach and seek compensation through said means. Likewise, I'm mindful in this situation it could be seen as threatening to [ID:437] (C1.14).

Furthermore, I've been a part of this community for many years and would like to continue to do so, abiding by server and community rules.

Moving forward I would ensure I follow all rules and I will follow the correct report policy instead of arranging compensation requests through discord breaking rules (G3.1/C1.14) I will do a compensation request on the forums and let staff decide.

I have learnt from my part in this situation and I would like to prove myself if I can be given a second chance within this community.

Right... 

the issue I personally see with this is the fact that we have a person who is scared to get banned on one side and another person, who would really like a shotgun. It is absolutely his own responsibility to stick to the rules and it is also your right to put up a report, no matter his ban status. 

What is not your right, is holding that over someone´s head. You had been told at the time, by 2 staff leads - not just normal members of staff - that we do not allow this form of resolving. Whatever any staff had said to you prior to this, is absolutely invalid at that point. Things change, rules change, policies change. 

You chose to not listen to this. You decided that a shotgun was more important than sticking to the rules, which have been laid out to you very clear by staff leads. 

You needed to make a decision - report or don´t report. If you really felt sorry for him, you could have just let it be, no? And reporting would have also not gotten you that shotgun... So the only 2 options that would have been within the server rules would have come without the gun... Which seems to be precisely the reason you didn´t pick either one, knowing full well that he would comply as he was worried about getting banned again. 

Let´s get away from what he did and focus on all the above, shall we?

from my point of view during the liaison I was advised not to and this was seemed left open to interpretation. Which I see now I misinterpreted extremely wrong. It wasn't just about the shotgun, I just didn't want to be cheated out another situation unjustly. After making me aware of his ban status I tried to envision a path where we both didn't lose, and now I realize the appropriate action to take is to report and let staff decide or as you said, let it be. It's easy to say this in hindsight, but in the future I will ensure to follow report procedure if a situation can't be resolved fairly in liaison.
 
I know I made the wrong decision there is no excuse for breaking server rules, but if given the chance, I believe I've got a lot more to contribute Role-play wise. Being away from the server, I've missed a ton of Role-play opportunities in developing myself and my organization that I've been building meticulously for months now; a true punishment.

The rules I broke,
G3.1 - OOC information - "Using out-of-character information to influence the course of Roleplay..."
 
This rule is in place to avoid abuse as one party could use OOC information to have the upper hand in a Roleplay scenario, which would be unfair. In future, I will avoid using discord messages/calls to arrange compensation and instead follow the set RPUK forum procedures.
 
C1.8 Forcing or encouraging another member of the community to break a rule.
It's one thing breaking rules yourself but encouraging other members of the community to break them is unjustifiable, if everyone did this the community would be ruined. In the future I won't allow myself to get into a situation where this occurred as it could have totally been avoided if I followed the advice set by the admins.

C1.14 Threats to report / Disputes / Breaking RP in Voice - "There are so many people on the server with all different points of view and disputes and disagreements are all part of the game, however please do not discuss them in-game also do not break RP in voice..."

Holding threats to report someone is unsound, as everyone has different points of views and opinions. I can only imagine the amount of time the staff on RPUK have gone through putting together rules and procedures in hope everyone receives a fair role-play experience. Breaking character and holding threats to report may influence the outcome of Roleplay situations unfairly. Again, this rule is in place to stop people from abusing the misfortune of others to their advantage. In the future I will refrain from threatening to report anyone in any shape or form and instead follow the correct procedures set in place, to resolve situations legitimately.
 
Thanks for the prompt reply, I hope this is enough to justify an unban as I'm fully aware of the severity of my actions. I never wanted to disrupt Role-play and risk the effort I've put in over a silly mistake which could have totally been avoided.
