I was banned for killing a medic (I think)

Why should we unban you ?
hey I was banned a very long time ago from this server for I think I shot a medic mistaking it for a cop car. I learnt my lesson I know my mistakes and will not do it again if I get a second chance I have re read the server rules hoping to play again and not make the same mistake, I was very new to rp back then and wasn't the very good either.

please find the rule you broke and quote it to us, then explain the rule in your own words and then explain why we have that rule in place

 
Thank you for the fast response, The rule I broke is "It is a bannable offence to kill a medic, take their vehicle, take them hostage or rob them" (2.12) which means that if any of this happens to a medic on duty it could result in admins having to issue warnings or bans to players breaking these rules. The reason you have this rule in place is to stop people from killing medics because they are harmless and doing their job. Also, medics would be killed all the time and it would ruin the experience of being a medic and helping people. 

 
Why did you thought it was a good idea to kill a medic? 
Also why did you not read the rules when you first joined? 

 
I did read the rules when I joined. it was a heated moment a big gunfight and it was nightime and I did not have night vision goggles all I could see was flashing lights of which I thought was a cop car but turned out to be a medic. I did not even know until an admin tpd me out of the fight and told me I shot a medic. I didn't even spray the car either I fired a few shots cus it was driving up a dirt road  and happened to kill the medic. I read the rules and was familiar with them at the time because I was new to rp and didn't want to mess  up. Also, the medic should not have been there either because it was an active gunfight and shots were going off. (11.4) combat reviving -if combat is in effect , or shots have been fired within the last 5 minutes, the area is not safe to enter for rescuing the injured. Therefore, you cannot revive at this time. I not trying to make a big deal out of it im just asking for a second chance. I know my mistakes and I have improved at arma since then, I can promise you guys I will not make the same mistake.

What if the medic was just passing by? 
And how will you ensure that next time you will shoot the right target, And not a medic? 

 
he was not driving by he was driving up to where people had been shot dead. Also, if he was driving to somewhere else he should have gone around the gunfight instead of risking his own life driving through a active gunfight (IMO)

Also I can ensure this will not happen again by  bringing night vision goggles, waiting until i 100% know  it is a cop and not a medic and be more careful in general of what im doing and shooting at.

I pmd him because my appeal was getting lower in the list and it had been 48hours and I thought I had been forgotten.

 
We work on a certain order in the appeals. And on top of that the holidays were very busy. 
So now find and quote me the unban appeal rule you broke. 

 
I understand that I was eager to play during the holidays im sorry. the unban appeal rule I broke was : Do not contact admins via PM or on Team-speak about unbans! 

 
We will trust you this time, but if we see you here again that won't come so easily. 
I hope you have learnt from this experience and that this does not happen again. 
Checking target identity is important to keep you out of trouble so in those circumstances where you are forced to shoot, ensure you are doing so at the right target.
