I was banned for changing my name in a different TS to "1.6 Wilco for racism". This was intended as a joke between me and the people in the room at the time. I am sure some of you are aware a different community decided to change their website and it’s in reference to this. I first joined the TS under the name "WilcosGermanWallet" in a reference to mike being an investor on RPUK as we frequently joke and banter about it and it wouldn't be the first time I have said this to him (and because mainly I didn't want to associate with them to much even saying to mike "im not joining that toxic Ts"). The second reason relates to my first point being that I didn’t want to be associated with them too much as I don’t really care for the drama so I chose a different name that mike would recognise but others wouldn’t. Wilco then starts to msg Mike about this very shortly after me joining so I change my name to "wilcostopspyplz" or something similar. After a while we joke about in the channel and gyazos are thrown around so me joking about I change my name to “1.6 Wilco for Racism”
I then join the TS after mike was banned for what I can only assume was me changing my name to this stuff to vent my frustration where one of the member supports added me and joined RR to get my name to figure out it was me.
I go to come back and apologise for any frustration I vented where I find I am banned for 1.6 with the rest following shortly after.
Why should we unban you ?
It was meant as a joke off of a RPUK platform and without trying to divert from "what I have done" it was only yesterday (at time of writing) that vlad was discussing accountability off of a RPUK platform (on an Unban appeal). I was joking harmlessly with a friend at the time and didn't think too much of the implications of my actions after seeing a statement like that only yesterday from management (regarding accountability outside of RPUK). This wasn't anything malicious nor was it meant to spite anyone and was meant simply as a joke. Yes, I was aware Wilco could be watching however if he wants to spend his time looking at the TS then so be it but I shouldn't have to change how I act because off it outside of RPUK.
Yes, people should hold a level of accountability for their actions elsewhere however in this instance I feel 1.6 is extreme for what I done as I have caused no such issues in the past. Weather I would call it a lapse of judgment I am not sure however it was silly and meant as a joke and I didn't really think it would affect me on here in any way at all. I believe the fact you basically went hunting for it (if my hunch was correct on how you found it was me) reinforces the fact that this ban should be looked at as your actively going out of your way to ban me for making a joke elsewhere instead of just ignoring it. Yes, it was childish to do and wilco does not need the extra flack after this other community is dare I say “harassing” him (I don’t know the extent of their actions.) But in my mind and at the time I was simply a joke between friends and if it wasn’t for the fact that you actively went looking for it you would have been none the wiser.
I would like to be unbanned even if it’s just to say thanks to some people for my time here. I have been involved in some incredible things in my time here and it was a fantastic place to be a part of if you can look past the drama side of things. I have always said even on posts where I would bash the server (constructively) that this one has a community above them all and even though I don’t play often it still nice to interact with people on here on TS and on the forums. It would be a shame for one joke made on a different platform that I was then “hunted down for” would see an end to my time here as I still feel like I can be a constructive member of this community. I haven’t been involved in drama or bullshit prior to this and managed to only get one ban in over a year displaying for the most part I tried my best to do things the right way.
