Killing a medic. Might also be because I had no microphone.
Why should we unban you ?
I understand that i fucked up. The ban was the right thing to do, but let me explain the situation from my perspective.
I want whoever is reading this to know that I'm a fairly new player to Altis life and Arma as a whole.
So it all starts with me and a friend finally getting enough money to buy rebel gear after almost a week of getting robbed and losing alot of money.
So we decide that now it's our turn to rob people. So I go for the sniper look and set myself up about 800 meters from the Pyrgos drug dealer on a hill top close by.
My friend goes down to the drug dealer and sets himself up behind the house(east) and waits. We manage to rob one person and he gets a bit of drugs on him. He goes back to his hiding place and waits around for more people to come. I was of cource his overwatch/sniper so I had full lookout over the entire area. Time goes and a helicopter comes landing and someone runs out to what seems like go sell som stuff. I call it out to my friend and get ready to shoot anyone who wont comply or tries to kill him. He lays low for a while to try to get them to sell their stuff first before robbing them(so that he did not need to do all the work of selling). Suddently I see some blue flashing lights coming down the road against the dealer. I panic and tell my friend that he needs to get out of there because the cops are comming. He denies and says that he really want to rob those other ones and that we should just kill the cops since they would be a threat to us. I agree. So once the people get out of the cop car, they seem to go right to were my friend was laying, so I start shooting. Since my scope does not really zoom in that well I miss most of my shots but I finally hit someone. The cops quickly get in the car and drives away and I get a clear view of the car when I realize my mistake, they weren't cops at all. They were medics.
So there you see, my ignorance got me, and I understand that I should be able to differentiate a cop car from a medic car, but at the distance with no knowledge of the difference between the type of cars I just could not know. The server has had a lack of medics online when I have been playing and so it did not even enter my head for a second that they were medics.
The whole microphone thing is something else, me and my friend where having a small LAN party so we were playing in the same room and I did not bring a microphone over to his house because we were the only ones playing together, my microphone is a condensor microphone and is pretty big and a hassle to travel with and he could do all the talking we needed. When I got contacted by the medic I said I had no microphone and he said that I should leave the server. I told him that I would, but just wanted to store my vehicle first. I stored my vehicle and left the server as fast as I could. I understand this break the rules. I had just skimmed them before and forgotten alot of them, but have now read them thoroughly and can promise that nothing like this will happend again.
TLDR: Thought medic car was cop car and shot the wrong people. Got told to leave the server if I had no microphone and did it as fast as possible.
This is the first time I have ever gotten banned from a server and I'm usually a nice guy when I play. It was dumb and stupid and I really wish I had not done it. I actually told my friend right after I realized they were medics that I felt really shitty about it and I really do. They are there just to help and I killed them. Stupid.
Thanks for reading and I understand if you still think I should be banned. It's my responsibility to know everything and I did not. Really think this is a really nice server and hope that you will find it in the goodness of your heart to forgive me.
EDIT: I just want to state that I have used to have a microphone all the time while on the server before, it was just under this play session that I did not have one. Thanks.
