In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.
I breached the rule against RDM. I opened fire and killed a police officer without sufficient initiation or prior role play and then attempted to kill a second officer.
Why should we unban you ?
First of all, I wish to express that I am deeply sorry for this incident. This was my first day playing a role play game such as Altis Life, and whilst I had read the server rules and believed that I understood them fully, I was not experienced or wise enough to apply them correctly in this situation.
On this day, I had been playing the game with some more experienced players (including Dr Disrespect). I had randomly come across them in my first few hours playing, and they invited me to tag along with their activities. Throughout the day, they had been teaching me how to play properly as I was very new and a little confused.
Towards the end of the day, most the players I was with had logged out and so it was just Dr Disrespect and myself; Dr Disrespect suggested that we attempt to steal from a policeman (I believe it was to take their car). He explained that the plan was that I should wait on a balcony of a building whilst he initiated the scenario and if he gave me a signal, I should shoot the policeman in fully automatic with the assault rifle that I had been given by him and the other players I was with. I saw Dr Disrespect come around the corner (as seen on the video evidence) and the policeman started working on the car. I observed what I believed to be conversation between Dr Disrespect and the policeman. Over the group channel (as they had invited me to their group / gang) he gave me the signal and so I opened fire on both policemen. I then immediately fled the scene on foot.
I understand that RDM is when a player randomly opens fire on another player without any warning or sufficient role play scenario (for example, this is a robbery, put your hands up and you will live etc.). I also understand that the purpose of this rule is to prevent the server from becoming chaotic and anarchistic and it serves to preserve the role play nature of the game so that it may provide a quality and enjoyable experience to those involved as opposed to all out warfare.
In this occasion, I believe I was misled as I was under the impression that Dr Disrespect had sufficiently initiated a role play scenario. I did not know what he had said to the police prior to them arriving at the car, nor could I hear the conversation that was occurring between them at the car and so when he gave me the signal to shoot I naively followed his instruction believing the rules regarding RDM to be satisfied by proxy. In this instance I was incorrect, and this was poor judgement on my part as I knew the rules and I should have questioned him on it to ensure that I am allowed to open fire. I can only put this down to sheer inexperience and misguided trust in a more experienced player.
Further to this, immediately after the incident, I was not aware that I had committed an offence since nothing was mentioned to either Dr Disrespect or myself, either on game or in Teamspeak. The first I was aware that I had committed an offence, was when I was banned today. I have subsequently found that there was a report filed on the Forum. This is a further error on my part which I must apologise for as I was not aware that I should be checking the Forum for messages as I believed they would be sent to me either in game or on Teamspeak.
Since this incident took place, I have ceased playing with Dr Disrespect, and I have found a considerably better mentors to play with and better people to play with who have provided me with a much better outlook towards the game.
I did not mean to break the rules, and I can only once again apologise for not playing within the intended spirit of the game. I was new and inexperienced, and based on what I was told by the person I was playing with, I believed that I was following the rules. In hindsight I can clearly see that I have broken the rule however it was not intentional.
I have now re-read the rules, which combined with my growing experience in game, now make more sense to me than they did on day one and I am sure that I have a much better grasp on them and so I am confident that if given a second chance, I will play only within the spirit of the game.
