In your own words, please type why you think you were banned.
I landed my hummingbird at advanced rebel to buy my gear. When I left the building, I saw that someone in rebel clothing was stealing my helicopter. I told him to get out of my helicopter and to not take off, but he took off and I fired around 20 shots at his helicopter, but he escaped. The person stealing my helicopter turned out to be an undercover police officer who was commandeering it, and he reported me for RDM.

My initiation was poor and did not constitute high quality roleplay, so I was banned from the server.

Why should we unban you ?
As much as I can see how poor the initiation or lack of was, I'm not someone who doesn't bother with RP. Ask anyone I've ever robbed or any medic who's dealt with me, and I don't see RP as a burden. The issue was that I didn't know how to initiate properly, a skill which I have since learned from some fellow rebels. I wasn't shooting without talking, and I did try and have a conversation with the (undercover) officer, but I didn't provide enough high quality roleplay to shoot, which I understand.

All I can say is that I'm improving, and have improved since. My latest robbery was carried out with a much higher quality (and valid) initiation, so much that the victim joked with me afterwards. I do think a ban was fair, but I wasn't intentionally breaking rules and am genuinely sorry to Ryker for having disrupted/ruined the scenario he was going through. If I could talk to Ryker on TS I think that'd be productive, but I can understand if he doesn't see it that way.

This is disappointing to see, were you not aware that you had to provide high quality roleplay before shooting at someone?
You have a lot of hours on our server, i'd find it hard to believe you did not know.

I think your attitude in the unban appeal was counter productive to resolving issues.

Lets start with your unban now, go to the rules page and copy/paste the rules you broke, then explain them in your own words, then tell us why you think we have them.

(2.2) Random Deathmatch (also known as RDM) - Shooting at someone without engaging in any form of quality role play (eg. Giving enough time for them to comply with your order. Count downs are not considered quality roleplay, please at least attempt to create an interesting roleplay story before considering shooting.) is considered RDM. (Punishment is a ban).

(7.1.3) Killing someone must be carried out with high quality roleplay, “put your hands up or I will shoot” etc is considered low quality RP and may lead to a ban for RDM/Fail RP. Executing another player must also be carried out with high quality roleplay, the only exception to this rule is if both you and the victim are engaged in a gunfight together.

My interpretation of these rules would be that you cannot shoot at someone without first roleplaying to a 'high quality' with them, not just if it's random, i.e. shooting someone because they're lockpicking a vehicle would break both rules as it's not very interesting.

These rules are important because this is not a KOTH server, but a roleplay one. The entire focus of the rules is to encourage roleplay and to remove either people disruptive to the community or who don't come to roleplay but for frags or to get money.
It's very important that people can't just be shot, the majority of roleplay scenarios involve some sort of hostility and just shooting without talking to the other person would negate the need for most RP situations.

It's also important because having someone joke around with you or come up with an interesting way of saying something definitely softens the blow of being shot in  the face.

As a sidenote, could you please let me know how my attitude was counter productive? I'm really trying my best, I don't want to make things difficult.

After reading the report as well I can see your attitude was not great at all and more focused on trying to make out everything you did as less than what it was including giving attitude about someone else decided to go about doing something like lockpicking, of which he did nothing wrong from what I've had a look at. 

I do try to make interactions interesting, but when you lockpick a random person’s heli, in rebel clothing, without any indication that this is somehow for police use, you can understand why people get a little pissed that you’re criticising their roleplay.

This part concerns me a little, why would the situation not have ended with such low roleplay if it was a uniformed cop and not just a rebel/undercover... and your last part there about people getting pissed when they criticise their roleplay, well maybe you should take your own advise and be more understanding about criticising someone else's when they've done bugger all wrong.

Now after a little checking up on you I see as well you have a history with roleplay servers and even the status of being part of the "Administration teams" or more specially, the below which is taken from an app:

So... you should be fairly aware of rules and why they exist which concerns me as to why you disregard our rules, more so when you consider you should understand why disappointing it is when fellow players don't follow those rules and ruin the experience or other players on the server.

You said that you have a good record with people you have robbed or with the NHS but this conflicts with what you said and did in the report/situation that got you banned so how on earth am I meant to believe this? Are you attempting to bullshit us... if you are then you will just keep digging your pit deeper and we will just return you to whence you came when crawling out of said hole when it was much more shallow to make this appeal. We are aware of the truths and we allow this chance for people to show us they mean it when they say they wish to stay but if they continue to shit in their own hole then fester in it then we have will not have the desire to help them.

Unturned RP servers, which have very different rules. I had lots of admin experience there, a lot of it backdoor-server side but also a lot dealing with KOS (equivalent to RDM) reports/situations in-game. There, saying 'hands up or die' is not considered RDM, sort of like Arma's Takistan. I might have been on this server for two months but I've been on servers with a completely different approach to RP for two years, so I still have old habits, which I think I've mostly changed - initiations were something I hadn't adapted too, but I think I now have.

Also I haven't been on Unturned RP for a few months now, would you mind telling me where you got that? Been on a lot of communities, but that seems a little outdated - by the time I left those servers I'd probably been admin on at least 12.

I'm not bullshitting you man, I'm giving it to you straight. I'm not trying to did deeper or anything of the sort. In the situation I was banned for I didn't roleplay enough before shooting, which is an issue I've now fixed, and one I don't have in other areas. I've now learned to deal with hostile situations. I was angry during the initial report because of what I believed Ryker's attitude to be, but I now know that he was being fair.

I can see that I was minimising it then, and that's something I have tried to change. After having reread the report I could see that I shouldn't try to minimise it or play it off as nothing, and that's why I didn't do so in my unban appeal. I want to show that I'm taking it seriously because I am.
