I know I am new here but I have been gaming for over 30 years now. I wanted to share my thoughts on my server time so far. Today all I was seeing was trolling and griefing with no RP in the major cities. I was shot dead once while sitting on the side of the road in my truck while being rammed by a hemmit. I logged on tonight and five or six people were killed with no RP again in Kavala. I know there are limitations to what admin can do but there has to be structure in our gaming world if we are going to continue.

The reason I joined this server was due to the vast amount of stuff  scattered around the map. Plus the fact that RP is a high priority. To me these are the things that make people stay and play. I would really like to have a conversation about what I have seen on a real level and not have a flame war or someone thinking I am a crybaby. I just want to help the community in the long run with meaningful dialog. 

 
Kavala and major city's you will always get the kids log into the server first time and VDM / RDM it's something we combat by instant bans.

I have thought about sitting up on top the hospital roof with a sniper rifle but it would be just as effective as trying to spectate 80 players.

Other ways we combat this is player reports via message system, player reports on the forum.

I am thinking of when I get back making more billboards in major city's making it more clear that we will get perm banned, during my time away on holiday TinyBigJacko has had a mass recruitment of admins which will stay In place on my return with a view to add some more as well as 1/2 forum moderators.

With all that said I do think we have the least VDM/RDM across all busy altis life servers and when roleplay takes place here you will find it second to none.

Any suggestions you have on how you think we can improve we will of course consider :)

Wilco, is there any chance of taking quadbikes out of the car shops? That might cut the VDM a little as people will have to walk to the Stadium to purchase a trollmobile.

And GI Joe, stick with it. There are a lot of good RP players on both the civ and cop side on this server. Moreso than any other Altis Life servers I have tried. Just try to avoid Kavala as much as possible as it is ground zero for the bridge dweller infestation. I only go there to sell talcum powder or investigate paranormal activity.

Before I came to KOS in my big VIP update I took quad bikes out of Kavala car shop, with that they are also illegal in Kavala.

The next step can be to not make them road legal in any city and to have them only buy able in the remote areas, I don't want to however punish the people who don't troll, these children (some shockingly grown men) that come here to play grand theft auto are in the minority

 
I do like the community. I have been having lots of fun. There are four of us playing on the server. We have played on other servers and this one is the one that we have the most fun. It was mainly one gang that seems to be doing most of the trolling in the two towns. I saw it in the morning when I was playing and again ten hours later when I got home and played again. I have seen other videos where the cops are doing interviews with press and over teamspeak I heard a cop mention of the name of one of the gang members doing something wrong in Kavala. 

I stay clear of major cities when I can. I know from gaming in general when groups of new people or kids gather the stuff hits the proverbial fan. Don't get me wrong we are no angels, but if we do something we RP as much as we can. 

I thank both of you for replying to my post. It is nice to have a constructive conversation with gamers that have the interest of the game and others in mind.

 
I'm pleased to see that I'm not the only person here with 30+ years of gaming experience! Stick around Joe... I'm sure we old farts will have plenty to share!

And something not yet known to Wilco (because he is on holiday in Kos, Greece) is that we have a new set of admin tools which have dramatically increased the power of the admins, and the speed with which they can respond to reports. We will probably never win the fight utterly against the loonies, and we must remember that we are in the middle of a Steam Sale which increases the number of zero-day trolls that arrive - but we are doing well, overall. Two servers filled to 80 on most nights, is something I'm very proud of. We must be doing something right!

And there is also the knowledge that sometimes (more often than we credit) yesterday's trolls, once banned and given a chance to plead and apologise, can sometimes turn into top-class roleplayers, once they get the 'bug' for it. We have a few in that bag already, and wouldn't be without them. It's all a learning process for some, I guess.

 
The admins are reacting very quickly to the couple of reports I've made in game, it's MUCH better. If only we can stop morons on side chat annoying us all we'd be onto a winner :)

Hehe he called you a old fart Joe, I like him already!

But on a serious note I am one of the four that games with Joe an he's right we do have a blast on this server and its one of the better ones we've played on like he said much so we donated straight away after a day of playing on there!

It's just the trolls that let it down i know your going to get them what ever server you go on, but some harsher punishments and more in your face rules so they understand wouldnt go a miss.

Other than that keep up the good work.
