Trading with cops -Thoughts about how it is and how it could be

Is it correct that cop gear is considered not worth anything duo to cops getting it for free? Ive been trying to get a deal sat up where we trade cars for cop gear. And almost every time it goes wrong. The cop tells me that the car is worthless and I can't receive anything for bringing it to them. Is there a way that we can get cops to actually think that their gear is worth something? I know its free for you guys. But in roleplay its some of the most expensive gear for rebels on the black market. I can probably sell a full uniform for about 100k or even more. We have a hard time getting our hands on cop gear these days after they started driving 3 in the cars. I have managed to do a trade one time with T-Robert. But I've done this trick 4 times now. Thats means that 3/4 cops believe that cop cars/gear is not worth anything at all (This is properly not true, just trying to be logical here). This is something that annoys me a lot when I am playing. Shouldnt cop gear/cars be worth something? When I use my time on helping them getting their stuff back. Isn't it then fair that I get something in return? Being able to set up trade for cops receiving their lost stuff and rebels getting their hands on what they want. The things that are received can ofc always be negotiated.

What are peoples thoughts about this? Shouldnt cop gear be worth something in roleplay even though the cops get it for free? Is this a correct thought about cop gear and making deals with the cops or have I just been unlucky with who I have been dealing with? Is there a way we can make cop gear be worth something to the cops themselves? If we made the cop gear worth something to the cops wouldn't it open a whole new world of roleplay for the rebels with negotiations which would result in more roleplay?

Is there a something I didn't think of? Something else under the same subject? Let me know your thoughts about this. Since this is something that I ran into a lot. I've chosen to post about this. I am not trying to make nice Mr. Wax here look bad. Just trying to draw some conclusions here.

Here is a video where I'm trying to trade a cop car for something at the HQ. But he tells me it aint worth anything at ALL.:

What happened before I started the record. Was that I told him I had a police car and wanted something for bringing it back.

I can see the RP perspective your talking about. A "citizen's reward" is logical for returning a police car in my opinion, but in truth it is worthless since police get everything for free,so it would be just for RP.

If you just want new tac vests then I could see that coming after big projects like the long awaited NHS arrives. There are dozens of gear options available that could be added in later. With assets we have vehicles, guns and next I'd like to think is gear.

I usually gives players 10k for bringing back "lost" police vehicles.

IF they are willing to give me their name, in order to make a bank transfer, and to check if they are wanted for theft or murder (cop-killing).

And that is only RP wise, not because it is actually worth anything, other than the 359£ we get for the impound.

Its not worth anything, but it should still be roleplayed man. You don't just leave a police car out there, someone could use it to pretend he is a cop and then rob people , or kidnap them or whatever -.- Plus the car would have a radio in there that could be very usefull in the right hands.

If a civilian/ rebel wish to return a police vehicle, a cash reward may be given in certain circumstances and only as a last resort. Never trade police uniforms as they are a lot harder to retrieve than a vehicle.

Further to what benS said if you are seen wearing police uniform, vest, backpack. You will be pursued as a criminal. Yes you may have purchased it off some unscrupulous individual or found it in a field somewhere. But they are very difficult to obtain except by kidnapping if that's the case you may have to submit to questioning. So expect to be restrained detained and maimed ;) if you don't tell us where you got it from.

That or if it's the case you found it text the police that you have it and what station you intend to return it to if there are no outstanding warrants for your arrest and you rant linked to an ongoing investigation as to missing police equipment you can expect to be rewarded.

Would have been nice if I'd seen this earlier...saw a police car left in the road, no front wheels, repaired it, messaged the police and drove around till I found some...gave it back and was told I'd be arrested if I did it again...ah well
