Timer when Searching Unknown Vehicles

Brief Summary:

Add a timer to searching vehicles. This increases realism as at the moment it is very quick and unrealistic to search vehicles.

Detailed Suggestion:

Since I’ve joined the server, the ‘searching’ vehicle mechanic has always been the same. I’ve seen some negatives with this, mainly being unrealistic because a search of a vehicle wouldn’t be instant. My idea would be to add a percentage/timer bar; similar to when you eat food etc. This means that people can’t run up to random cars, look into boots and bolt with whatever was in there, if the owner forgets to lock it as soon as they get in.
To battle the idea of ‘I know what’s in there so why do I need to search it’ argument, anyone with keys can search a vehicle with no timer. This would make it as realistic as possible (whilst being the simplest too) because the vehicle owner will know the contents and so in theory wouldn’t need to ‘search’ for them. Of course then if they are doing illegal activities with cars involved, they can share keys because we can make the assumption that the owner has ‘notified’ them of the contents through RP.

The Pros:

- Realism

- Don’t have people running up to cars and stealing stuff out of the blue

- Always a chance to catch people in the act

The Cons:

- People will be upset that it takes time if they try to quickly take something.

Does this suggestion change balance on the server?

If so, only slightly.

I support this somewhat if:

People with keys get a reduce/no timer since they 'own or use' that vehicle

Meaning that it's randoms/aggressors/police who have to take a few moments ruffling through the contents  of the boot and glovebox.

The Pros:

- Don’t have people running up to cars and stealing stuff out of the blue
+1 got unbanned a few days back, logged on for 10 minutes and some kid just ran up, looked in the boot of my car and thanked me for the taser.

Don't leave your vehicle unlocked?

why look for easy ways to avoid situations? play smart 😉

+1 and -1 on the suggestion

Don't ask to be baby fed something so simple just because its a pain in the ass when someone does it to you.

@Pricei don’t see how it’s unrealistic? People don’t leave everything lying in their boot, plain sight for people to see and take.

Also just removes all aspects of RP by someone just looking into a vehicle for 3 seconds and everything being nabbed (Police POV too).

This is not realistic at all.

Don't leave you cars unlocked
I was sitting in my car, its not like i left it somewhere unlocked.
I was driving, pulled over for like a minute while talking to someone and they pulled up, hopped out the car and looked in all the boots...

I like this idea because well I have seen people just dip into a car and know EVERYTHING that's in it with just a quick press of the "Y" button.

One thing I like to do in Roleplay situations is when I am searching a person/car I like to list things as if I am rummaging through or searching through and not instantly go for the guns, because it's highly unrealistic to instantly find certain objects in a vehicle or on a person, they can hide them anywhere.

+1
