The point of being a rebel

Hello, i was just curious.

As we can see everyone on this server as a rebel, what do you see in it?

Theoretically, people, when living in a safe place and encounter problems rarely tend to try and live

their lives as thiefs, as in-game they can not be punished in any sort (except in-game things only).

When being served through media amount of bad news happening all around, it makes one wonder

"What make these people live a life like that? What is their gain from all of this?"

Yes, after wondering this most of the people want to try through different ways.

Some become real thiefs themselves, other try it through game.

And after doing their first succesful robbery in game, they see that it is way eaasier than working hard on money.

So they become hungry and start doing this all over again, all of it just because they can experience that feeling.

The feeling of being in lead and dictating your demands through pointing a gun at people, not giving them chance to save situation.

In my opinion, being a rebel -which doesn't even know what the point of rebel is- and robbing people is the worst way of earning

any sort of respect, as people who do this cannot obviously earn respect themselves in any other ways, only using gun.

The point is, why don't you try something else? All these rebels who want to kill, rob and destroy?

Why can't you try making yourselves unique and dynamic character and entertain others with it?

For example, I've met one guy like week ago, Julian i think his name was.

When i asked him why he came, he didn't say that he came to kill police and everyone else.

He told me that he (in the matter of RP) is looking for his kidnapped sister and wants to find her no matter what.

When he told me this, it made me think that not all of these people are bloodthirsty, so i helped him.

When you would encounter more of these characters with their own stories which could somehow drag you in it, it would be only good.

But when you encounter an armed group of five?

"Hands up or you will be shot, give us keys to your car."

"Hands up this is a robbery, drop everything you have."

"You've got three seconds to drop everything or you're dead."

What makes you wanna do this?

Point of roleplay is to make something both parties will enjoy (considering thiefs and civs), not just say one sentence to get over with everything.

Make some events for people to participate, create documents for them, do things which wont result in harming civilians but will show them that you're not the bad guys.

And if you still have to be the bad, you still can make it enjoyable for others.

Don't just rob people and let them behind, being disgusted and thinking about leaving the server because this makes them think they're all the same.

Roleplay with them, drag them into situation and make them talk their way out of it, even with leaving their vehicles/equipment on them if it is good enough, there is no need for that.

This is a roleplay community, then roleplay even when robbing, if you've got shit-worth rp so you can't even appreciate when someone's trying hard enough, leave being rebel.

As for the rebeling itself.

You rebel against government, which means you rebel against everything that is somehow connected to them.

You are NOT rebelling against people, as they are between you and government and can decide which side to join.

Learn this.

If you rebel against the police you must somehow spread your opinions about the police, spread information which shows that they're bad and let people have it and read it.

You need to do this diplomatically, you must keep in mind that even the poorest hobo can have strong connections which may bring you death when robbing him.

If you will rebel against police/government by robbing and killing people, you won't succeed.

You never will.

If you consider yourself a worthy leader, then you should know the basics of informational and diplomatic warfare, because although this is a game, there are reasons.

Doing bad will never get people on your side, but proving the true side of your opponent and showing that you care for people, that is key to winning.

Think about it.

So by this im just basically pointing out the overall worth of some certain gangs here whose existence is based on their own extinction due to their actions.

Try thinking before doing some of your actions, don't just let yourself fall to that wolfpack feel of being able to do anything resolving in dying.

Just think about this.

TL;DR

Pointing out the worth and how the minds of masses are acting around here, pointing certain things that could improve overall roleplay feel.

A lot of interesting points however some are un-achievable in-game as of now but who knows in the future if rebel factions can spread the word/propaganda to the masses of Altis and change the way people think. Also interestingly enough most rebel groups tend to place themselves under the radar and do not want to be noticed/seen by the opposing faction whether it be the government/police however the complete opposite is what we see, this is most likely due to various things like instigating gunfights and RP but that remains to be seen.

Well that i have to agree with, pity is that most of these gangs don't see the whole point and what they can do as a rebel.

Spreading the propaganda and stuff like that would be really easy, have done that sort of thing before against the PD.

Yeah thats that, thing is that even if they would be seen it would constantly result into a gunfight, but this is problem on both sides.

For rebels that they are bloodthirsty, for cops that they don't know when to back up, which results usually into these kinds of wars.

Like yeah, they can RP together and between themselves which i appreciate, but they shouldn't be focused on raising their ego through robbing, killing and satisfying their bloodlust.

Literally worst when you have a person in your gang which just wants to kill somebody and keeps on reminding that consantly, nothing good can come from that.

This is exactly why I refer to 'rebels' as criminals.

Unless you've got a cause, an ethos and a strict moral standpoint you're not a rebel. You're just a criminal with a big gun.

From my experience, the people that accept that to be true about themselves are better at providing a realistic roleplay personality too. Not everyone has to be an untouchable badass, the people with a weakness, a vice, are the better people to meet in game. Those people understand that roleplay is a two way street and not just a PvE ego massager.

As Edgar says a Rebel fights for a cause.

A a person who rises in opposition or armed resistance against an established government or leader.

It's not always about who has the biggest gun or biggest force, that's why UNMC always set out for specific missions or goals, we never go to Kavala just to kill cops for example

I feel ya mate, and this is worst.

Lot of these so-called rebels are just people like that let loose which just connect together to have some strength in numbers and cause trouble, without doing it for any greater good. (luckily lot of these people leave the server for good later, as their rp is sometimes kinda...well, shitty.)

Like, i've met one of these guys you mean, was like a maniac and was laughing constantly, that was fun, he never referred to himself as a rebel, only as a "failure of government's interpretation/criminal".

Great rp about how he got out of insane asylum and how he wants to revenge on the system.

But if i met average Rebel, i would be robbed and left in the middle of the road without anything.

I read this with sad music in the background. (off topic I kno, sori)
>inb4 bleach sad ost started playing

'tis betur.

Yeah, that for example, like a lot of rebels pretend to fight the government but when you actually ask them why or how are they planning to do so they just give you some last-minute reason which doesn't tell you much and then carry on with doing what they were doing.

When we're at it, what was the Kavala Castle Seize thing about? :D
