Hey, hey, hey!

It's great to be coming to AltisLifeUK and I hope that I find myself engrossed in all of the cool features that it boasts.

A little about myself: I am (almost) a nineteen year old Canadian soldier. I spend most of my spare time listening to music or reading fictional stories wrapped around the Napoleonic era. (Hurrah for old Nosey!) I'm usually a pretty happy individual online, and I should reckon we'll all get along splendid!

Hello AlanBrenan and welcome to Altislife.co.uk! I'm Wills King, a Community Mentor, and my job is to assist you and answer any questions you may have! First, please familiarize your self with our server rules, or you may end up banned and we wouldn't want that! If you require and assistance, feel free to send me a message on the forums, or you can find me at the top of the teamspeak (ts.altislife.co.uk), in the Help Section. If I'm not available, feel free to contact anyone with the tag [Mentor] behind their name, and they can assist you!

Once again welcome to Altislife.co.uk, and I hope you enjoy your stay!

just ignore @SPC/SUR Wills King 's formal attitude, expect nothing of the sort here :)

Also some of our members seem to experience some issues with addiction, so just watch out for that!

oh and of course welcome to the island, we hope you enjoy your stay.

Konichiwa Alan-san!
Don't mistake my anime avatar for some type of weeaboo status card. My normal one wouldn't fit. :p

EDIT: So, I took some look through your posts. I think I understand the kind of person you are. I was gonna lay down fiery justice but you're just trying to look smart at your job. Kudos to you, kid. However, you should definitely reword your welcome post so it is more fitting to the lax community. c:

@AlanBrenan I can assure you I'm not trying to make myself look "smart" at my job, and please refrain from calling me "kid". And what fiery justice were you going to lay down? I was merely welcoming you to Altislife.co.uk. And may I ask what type of person you think I am?

Chill out mate, some people just talk like that, not everyone calling you a kid is trying to offend you.

The type that gets offended. :p

You're a lot like Tyler, a community staff member in my old PERP community. He was always really sensitive to the things that people said and in all honesty, we treated him unfairly because he did do his job okay(ish). The only reason he really got the staff position was because the owner saw past the drama. ;o

The thing is, I've worked recruitment as well, and I was official by necessity, but even my "official" had a sort of lax attitude to it. You have to make sure that when you welcome people into a community, you do so in a manner that befits the community. ^^ If this were, say, a high-end super serious tactical gaming community where we call each other by pre-designated and pre-assigned callsigns and there are forms upon forms in order to breathe, then sure, ramp up the official business letter of welcome. :3

@AgentWashigton I can assure you I am not offended by what he posted, just simply gathering more information. As for being called a "kid" for me it's more of an annoyance than anything, as I'm called it so much.

It's going to happen for a little while. I don't say it to offend you, I say it because you're thirteen and that's how the world runs.

Anyway, I appreciate you welcoming me, but I guess in all honesty I'd've appreciated something a bit more personalized. That just looks like something you have saved to a word document stuffed in a folder full of other pre-typed messages to help you do your job.

Which is fine in larger communities, I guess, but no one is going to feel welcomed by a robot shaking their hand. That's why Wal-mart hasn't gone forward with that idea.

@AlanBrenan As I stated to @Agent Washigton, I did not take offense to what you posted. I'm not really sensitive to things. I feel I do my job very well. I didn't get this position by creating drama, I sent in an application with lots of other people, my application was then read, then voted on if I should be in this position pay the majority of the Admin team. The "formal" invitation is just who I am. Now enjoy your stay at Altislife.co.uk, and I look forward to seeing you in game, or assisting you on the Teamspeak.

Guess I can't say anything against that. Have a swell one and thanks! :D

Anyway, all that aside, welcome to the server! @AlanBrenan

Once you get up to speed with RP, how the server works and get to grips with the community there are lots of gangs recruiting at the moment.. If that's your thing.

This is directed at OP but I'd just like to say that is much better, OP is going to feel more like you care about him as a player and took time to find out more information, and you sound less like a robot ^.^

This is actually fucking amazing and I've only now posted that character story. I feel like you took a bit more time to find information out and you still got the rules pitch in. Keep your welcome posts to something like this and I'm certain people will appreciate you much more.
