The Anglo French war on Altis 1805
(NOTE THIS STORY IS NOT REAL OR HISTORICAL ACURATE)
In 1805 the war against napoleon was going on. in europe and africa. both sides lost ground and payed already a big price.
over the past 100 years Britian lost alot of territory, not just ot the french but due to the lost war against George Washington.
with being driven out from the America's. Britian was searching for new land....and had a new target,
The Island of altis, relatively small but a very strategic point. it lays in the mediterranean sea above africa so it provides a save heaven for merchant ships, and so it begins....
February first 1805,
George III
orderd the capture of the island Altis. Everyone in the Goverment agreed and on the 20 of February A Small armada sailed out of Gribaltar to Capture Altis. the armada existing out of time 2 battle ships, the HMS Royal charles (heavy first rate) and the Carronade Frigate Sabber. and one Troop transport carring the 52 Regiment of the Royal Marines and the 8 Regiment Grenadiers.
18th of March 1805
after weeks of sailing the finaly got to the island. and landed on the shores close to Athira. after 3 days being on the island the Brits digged the selfs in, scouts reported a big French force was coming their way so the prepared them selfs for the first battle...
21 of march 1805, 10 am
The 8 Regiment Grenadiers marched out of Athira and encounterd the French Régiments Étrangers
With volleys being fired after another the battlefield was coverd with smoke, bit of gunpouder, cloth and boddies of french and redcoats....
after a long and bloody battle the french retreated to copitol of the Island...Kavala
23 march 1805
Kavala is being besieged by the Brits from land and sea.
the french hold out in the old castle and fortified themselfs.
the royal navy is shelling the castle.
23 april 1805,
after a month of besieging the castle. the british army launched the final attack.
on 11 am the naval guns stopped shelling and the 52 regiment Royal Marines combined with the 8 regiment Grenadiers start assaulting the castle.
after hours of fighting they captured the castle and raised the union jack (this flag this strands on the castle).
short after the capture of Altis, another small island was captured close to altis called stratis.
