Tempest Device, and how it works?

The title speaks for itself, I'm planning on eventually purchasing one but I'd like to know what it does and how it works. My character is in the mining business, an I'm wondering if it's worth getting.

if i am correct the tempest device is currently not working due a bug.

if you go mining you firstly need a pick from the market. When you have this your all set really go The the diamond mine for example use the windows key to mine when it says your inventory full go by your truck and click "T" to store the stuff in your truck repeat this till your truck is full and start processing then sell it 

But as @Jefke V said they might not be working ATM but thats how you do it

I think it's the "mineing from inside cockpit" thats disabled

Tempest device is currently disabled while the devs look into a bug as far as I know
