Tabbing Out when recording

Hello,

I was wondering if it was possible to make it so that if you tab out of Arma, as an example to send a message on Teamspeak,  your recording is not affected. Currently, I am using play.tv and if I tab out and tab back in, the video footage deletes that whole part where I am tabbed out. I really want to fix this as people could say the video was "edited" when providing evidence which would be a major setback.

Sincerely,

Riccardo

It's impossible to 'edit' the video and then upload it to plays.tv, anything uploaded to plays is the raw unedited original footage; the only reason it would freeze is that a) the video broke or b) you tabbed out the game

To the actual question, however, I'm not sure if there is a way you can keep the game recording when you alt-tab out. Perhaps if you do some research you might find an app of some sort which keeps arma III 'live' even when tabbed out?

With plays.tv I don't think it's possible. However if you have recording software that will record your screen and not just the game tab yes. For example if you use OBS and set it to capture the whole screen it will capture what's on the screen. Whether that's being a game/ts/browser etc.

https://obsproject.com/ Here is a link to OBS.

Take in mind this can only record the whole time so doesn't work like shadowplay etc.

So if I upload a clip to plays.tv it is 100% not edited? Also, could a staff confirm this just for double triple insurance to avoid any kind of issues in the future?

Problem is that when you tab out of arma it freezes, hence why plays.tv stops recording it

This is incorrect tho. You can edit stuff before you send them to plays.tv. Just edit the footage and Place it into the folder where you have set the playstv to scan.

I believe you're incorrect though - if that were the case you would be able to upload any video to playstv. Theres a file in the plays folder, I forget what its called, which I believe stops you from doing exactly that

Well I record with shadowplay and upload with playstv. Edited these clips multible times betwean. You can include more folders into your playstv scan than just the default path.

Then is there any way to prove that you did not edit the video?

I don't mean to say that you can continue recording arma because that's impossible. Just wanting to help him so it will continue recording and people won't think it's edited :)

Well dunno for what purpose you would need it to be proven. For videos what get presented to you here, its quite easy to actually see if they are edited or not. What I would check is the integrity of the audio line. Dunno about playstv, but in shadowplay you can just have the whole thing to record your desktop if you alt+tab.

Plays.tv cuts the whole clip including audio

If that is the case then you might want to consider another recording software if your current one does not meet your needs. You might want to try running the game in window and see how it affects the recording software.
