Even as a little boy Storm Winchester was always infatuated by the thought of flight. Growing up in a small town, there wasn’t much for storm to do. He was always outside playing in the woods back behind his small family's ranch. He was miles away from any neighboring homes. The closest thing to him was a small discrete airport that the military would use as a half way station between the big air bases. So while he would be outside every once in awhile he would see the helicopters and huge cargo planes flying over. Many times he would watch as the sunset as the aircrafts would take off to god knows where.
Being from a small secluded place he called home. There was not much for him to do. Wasn’t the best at school, played a few sports that his small school offered, they played for the love of the game. Was no big fancy fields to play at. Was just a field surrounded by crops that the farms would grow. During his time of playing sports he found that he excelled at working as a team and leading them as well. It was no surprise that once he finished school he would try to make the air force.
He took a year off and helped his family on the ranch and trained himself how to fly. His father was very worried about buying a airplane to help dust the crops. Storm was the one to convince his father they needed it. Not only would it save them hours apon hours. Storm would then get experience flying, which is something he always loved.
It was true love, seeing the world from up high, listening as the old engine roared and the wind whistled against the plane. Every chance he got he would take to the skies. He now not only understund aerodynamics, he could also fix engines, drive trucks. He felt he was now prepared enough physically and mentally to do the things he so badly wanted. He would soon realize how unprepared he truly was.
Rounds explode in the middle of the night, not but 10 meters from his tail rotor. Storm calls out the location of the shots. His team he is leading do their best to remove the target. Sadly they were too late. The shot his the tail. Smoke starts bellowing out of the rear of the helicopter. Storm looks back at the horrified faces as the heli starts to rotate in a way its not meant too. He knew they are going down. He tells his team" Buckle up boys it's going to get a little hairy for a few minutes." His training kicks in, he somehow manages to move the helicopter off the AO and lands hard into a field about 1 klick out. After landing, the first thing he does is check on his team. Thankfully no one is injured to bad. Just a few scratches and bruises.
Soon as day broke storm and his team hitched a ride on a convoy out of the AO back to headquarters. The time and experience he had in the air force is something he will never forget. There is so much more that he could tell you from his time serving. After returning, he decided he wants to go back home and spend a year or so helping his family, which he did. Now armed with all this knowledge and experience what should storm do with it?
While looking through some online article he found a ad for experienced truck drivers and aircraft pilots needed. From a company called TFG International that is stationed in the South Pacific on the islands called tanoa. He was experienced enough for the job, it took some convincing from his family that this is something he should not pass up. He calls the number listed on the ad. They accepted him before the phone was even hung up. He took the next flight out to tanoa. Now what comes next? Why don’t you ask him yourself.
