Can I ask why you feel the need to restart the server at 2:30AM. A complete unscheduled restart for no apparent reason. Does it really hard to put a message in the sidechat saying there is going to be a restart. It really is bullshit, I was in the middle of a roleplaying situation proccessing.

So there must be an explanation because this is not the first time it has happened

Dont even bother responding with server wasn't full or we turned it off to fill up server 1.

So they just turn it off without allowing us to sync, its complete bullshit, they don't even give us a 5 minute warning, is that to much to ask for ?

No doubt it was Ciaran via his mobile app, but seriously this happens every night and has done for some months now.

Server 2 is overflow so if you on server 2 past 12am its your responsibility to think about moving to server 1 asap.

 
yes I have just lost allot of gear die to one of these unannounced restarts it is quiet pathetic especially when you don't have much money.

I understand that Server 2 is just an overflow, but could you please think about just adding a 10 or 15 minute notification to shutting down the server?

I don't play on Server 2 much, but I can definitely understand the frustration for people, which could be easily resolved with just a little notification before the server shuts down.

It just gives the players on the server a little bit of respect and time to put away gear, or log off and sync so they don't lose equipment.

I never asked who I was, I simply ask why can't you just send out a message saying its going down

 
This poor communication is a repeating problem, if youre going to take down server 2 please just give warnings.

You mention the server is being shut down via someones mobile, then I suggest this as it worked fine for me when we were hosting our private hive dayz servers. Use remote desktop via TeamViewer on the server and on your mobile (android, etc), then remotely open the RCON program of your choice on the dedi box, then type in the RCON chat program, "Server shutting down in 5 minutes, please SYNC and move to server 1 immediately", all this can be done via teamviewer on your mobile phone.  May sound trivial but this is an easy solution, the warnings and courtesy would go a long way with the players on server 2.

I agree, the lack of communication from admins regarding server maintenence or procedures is a little suprising considering the popularity of this community.

feels like its a situation of "deal with it". Would much prefer a message on shutdowns. And announcements BEFORE an update so we can prepare. You could even post the mission file to help alleviate strain on restart updates. Just my opinion.
