Sound mods

According to rule 2.3 which states that any functionality changing mod is not allowed. So my question is can you use Sound mods or does this fall under a breach of rule 2.3

(2.3) Using any sort of modification that changes the functionality of your game is not permitted to be used while you are logged into our servers. This includes non-malicious graphical enhancement utilities. We have systems in place in order to detect and punish users for this type of offence. This offence will result in a permanent ban without chance for appeal.

Thank you for your question, in fact, it is a very good one. The topic regarding sounds mods has been previously debated in the community and management/staff came to the decision not to allow them. The reason for this decision is as follows: Although many Sound/Graphic enhancing mods are harmless and can not cause any sort of advantage there are a couple of mods out there that aim to enhance certain aspects of the game to make it easier for the user, whether that be the sound of footsteps; to gain an advantage over other players, or using a graphic mod that highlights players so you can spot them easier (A.K.A ESP).
