So is recording basically a requirement to play here?

Just got hijacked by a player while I was repairing my vehicle. He shouts at me twice that it's a robbery, I cancel the repair animation and try to put my gun away (always aiming at the truck, never at him) and he shoots me. Whole thing took about 5 seconds from 'this is a robbery' to me being dead.

Tells me pretty much 'too bad' and 'must have been desync'.

No point in a player report without a recording, so I guess I'll need to get one.

Any recommended recording programs?

If you have an Nvidia GPU; Shadowplay is the best program around. However, if you have any other graphics card IE. an AMD GPU get yourself OBS. http://obsproject.com/ It's mainly used for streaming but is great for game recording as well.

Both of these programs/softwares are GPU-based game-recording softwares and will therefore not impact your FPS too much, unlike say Fraps that will severely hamper your game performance.

AMD's have their own version of shadowplay nowdays, it's caller rptor.

Both of these programs can record everything in the background without having your fps drop at all.

I can say from experience that AMD Rptor realy decreases my FPS. Therefore i recommend OBS.

You dont need to record. I never record because I don't care if someone rdm me or something I will just talk to them about it sometimes I do record but I don't play the game just to get people banned unlike some people here. I play for the roleplay.

I don't use recording software only in Gang ops that i use recording software but on daily use on Altislife i never use it, even if it was RDMed/VDMed i just let them know on ts that they broke the rule and let them know that it will not happen again.
