Hello everyone!

Now before I start I must highlight that to some of you this is common knowledge, but being a salt runner myself I commonly take advantage of the sling loading mechanic to add that extra Salt to my haul!

Now I have seen SO many questions in game regarding sling loading; people saying it does not work for them, the sling load making the heli slow down etc etc. So I want to cover some basic points for people who may not be clued up about this method of making money.

Q: I cannot pick up this vehicle, and I am using the right controls!

A: Make sure you own BOTH of the vehicles. Make sure your heli can sling load the weight of said vehicle! (Hurons can sling load ZAMAK TRANSPORT max).

Q: I don't know the controls!

A: First, hover just above the ground in your heli. Engage the sling load assistant (default right ctrl + b on arma 3 control preset). If you own both vehicles and your heli can carry the weight then you should see a small icon on your newly found radar in the bottom right of your screen, that represents your vehicle! Get that icon in the middle of the radar and you should see a prompt to press B. Do this and keep the dot in the middle of the radar until the % reaches 100. Take off and enjoy your sling load!

Q: When I sling load my heli slows down!

A: Get that fat man out of the vehicle you are sling loading! Having a player in the vehicle you are sling loading adds 200 tons to the weight!.

Wow... now I have finished this I'm really let down by the number of questions I could think of... If you have any more please do ask below!!

Sometimes certain types of vehicles are sling loadable if you have the keys. Some vehicles can even be sling loaded by any heli regardless of whether you own it or not. However right now I'm trying to focus on the side of the money making process, sling loading trucks etc.

As you said, i have try sling my zamak transport with my huron but the "small icon" didnt show up when i was flying above. Then i did same thing with the SUV and it was okey.

Q: did i do something wrong or it is a some known bug.?

 
A) make sure your under 10 meters from the ground. 

Make sure both vehicles are your own (no rental) 

Press Ctrl + B 

Hover straight above the truck, again under 10 meters. 

Press B when hovering above it and you have a Green icon on the Sling load display. Happy flying.

To disconnect the lines land the truck on the ground then press B.

keep in mind that the helicopter will increase hight when it loses the wait of the truck. 

Police and NHS vehicles can be sling loaded by other faction. 

Police can be taken hostage with this function but there needs to be roleplay as you are taking someone hostage.

NHS vehicles are not to be touched. (Stealing / hostage)

 
Should also add that rental vehicles can be stolen, e.g. police vehicles.

Useful for the old prison transport hijackings when you pick up the car they're getting transported in.

Also that medics for some reason are able to airlift any vehicles.

can you confirm this is the orange and blue Zamak transport? Is it covered or uncovered?

I tried again and i was able to sling the transport covered but not uncovered. Its wierd cuz covered one can carry more if im no wrong, 425 and uncovered 400.

This is a common mistake! The covered can in fact carry 450.

 
You cant slingload the covered Zamak, and rented vehicles can be slingloaded (Police/NHS).

 
Wait guys...i dont understand nothing anymore. We have there Zamak transport and Zamak transport (Covered). First one carry 400 and other one carry 425.

Today i was doing salt run and i slinged a Covered one. I gonne for a run and later when i filled him up i had to stop to buy another Covered one and i wasnt be able to sling it.  So I had two same trunks on the ground i was able to sling one (the old one full with salt)  but not the new one.

I spend some time to see where to problem but didnt found it.

Wrong, i've personally slingloaded police zamak (covered) with my huron

 
I treid today to slingload both zamack uncovered and covered. I didnt work. My car, my box truck went fine, but the two others didnt work at all.
