Side chat abuse

How do you report or fight against it?

There are 2 dudes on #2 who have been doing "sex" noises on side for past 10-15m.

I know mute is one option, but I really feel like temp ban for something like this isn't too much to ask.

Just mute them and spam the 'Kick player' option in the map. After a while they will get steam ticket check failed null;

And ofcourse report them on the forums

Please don't do this... It is just annoying. 

Go to Y menu -> Settings -> Side Chat and select it Off.

if you do that you loose all side chat. the text and the voices, this includes any direct chat text too

go to the map, select players, find their names, click them and then mute them in there.

I don't see side chat or direct communication messages anyway?

Like, my text bar never shows up, even when I type something in it!

As for side chat voice, I hear idiots cutting in and out all the time and I can symphatise.

It does my head in when I'm trying to film and someone is cutting in and out over side chat, its loud and it goes over the direct chat.. not exactly fun to edit out either!

Turning sidechat off completely is an unfair thing to have to do because of children using sidechat. Unfortuantely, some people find humour in ruining other peoples experiences and there isn't much you can do about it. You can mute them:

Map > Players > Find name > Select "Mute"

However the mute won't come into action until they stop and start again. Your best bet is to do as Ross says and disable it temporarily or try and get enough video evidence of them trolling to ensure they never do it again.

Go to settings turn VON all way down, then you can not hear sidechat, groupchat, vehicle channel, but you are still able to hear, direct communication
