Side channel

I find it very annoying when people make noise on the side channel, on purpose or not. I try to be very carefull not to do it myself. But apparently I just made all the TS default channel noises hearable in side channel..... again, sorry for those of you who had to put up with it! My question is, why can't the side channel be disabled for civ's? It's a small script to be implemented on the servers! So maybe we can start a poll or something to disable it completely!? I'd like to hear what other's opinions are.

Here here! Get rid of the sidechat voice, only typing.

Probably already been posted before in the suggestions, but the best place is the suggestion forum if you want something gone or fixed (or added)

If side channel is disabled, then people can't even type. This makes it hard for newer players as they are totally cut off and can't get any help. Also, it makes it hard to contact rule breakers to ask them to come to teamspeak.

Also it makes it lonely. You can disable sidechat clientside by pressing 6 and turning it off. (Although I'm not sure if it removes voice then aswell). 

If there is someone spamming down side, ask them to double tab capslock. If an admin is on, the will usually kick them

There is a solution for this for the new framework already, For the time being just mute people who are making noises other than an odd click or two or report them here on the forum

Thanks for those quick responses. Indeed imo the best solution would be to disable sound and only have the possibility to text chat on sidechannel. I'll place it also on the suggestion forum.

It happens often I agree, however quickly telling them to double tap caps lock or press '<>' results in them quickly stopping heir antics. If that fails an admin will more than likely kick them.

Ive heard disabling sound in sidechat disables it for all channels or/and would make it so you can't type as @GP. Daanish said.
