Hi all im not too smart about computers and stuff. As black Friday is soon i am wondering should i get a secound GTX 970? I was wondering what the benefits of  what it was. I do have the money for it , just dunno if its worth it or not.

You'll get worse performance with 2 970s enabled, Arma 3 isn't optimized for SLI.

SLI for Arma is overkill, not needed. For future games like Fallout 4 and the  advantage for future WQHD or UHD screen gaming it would be an advantage. Yet if you are running on 1080P your 970 is fine and would be a waste of money to go on SLI. Better use the money to upgrade your CPU or other components.

No, If your going to upgrade get a better CPU. As arma cannot handle SLI, I have two 780 TI's and arma runs better when I only use better so it's a waste of money if you're doing it for the hope of better performance.

Just download more ram from a respectable internet source and I'm sure you'll be fine!

In all seriousness though, SLI is usually overkill. If you're really considering upgrading I'd just save up and wait for the next batch of graphics cards to be released. A 970 is more than enough to handle most games in the current market. Buy yourself some solid states and watch your performance overall increase exponentially!

I have a GTX 750 ti and it runs A3 alright but I think if you feel another 970 will benefit you then go for it if you have the money. But like Angus said solid state drives do up the ante 10 fold.

I'm not too knowledgeable but if I were you I might also just get some more ram or like they said upgrade your CPU or if you currently are only running one monitor maybe grab a second one it helps so much.

I'm wanting to be able to play games like Witcher 3 at 4K. Im getting a 4k monitor at Christmas and i was wondering if i should get a second GTX 970 on black Friday as they will be very cheap.

For 4K gaming, then defnitently get a second one!

I would recommend waiting to see what real life performance is like on your current card. the 970 is not that expensive anyway and will only drop further in price.

Most ppl who go down the SLI/Crossfire route are generally disappointed in the end results. Don't expect to double your performance, and only expect it to work with a random scattering of games to varying degree's of efficiency.

That all said, if you know what your doing and can manually edit config files and are happy to experiment then you can get some cool results, just not much works OOB

Bare in mind if playing at 4k with the 970, on very high settings - some games wth rich high res textures may hit the 3.5gb / 0.5gb limit of the cards memory architecture, giving you ridiculously terrible performance.
