The server has been getting DDOS every montth bc they ban like 20 people per day then they dont ever respond to unbans so its not even worth playing on there anymore seeming that when you play you always get reported bc of fucking crybabys. Most of you all will try to back up wilco and all the admins but you know the truth :) Server is going to shit. Most servers allow chances but wilco seems to be like a fucking communist.

cmon the server is not that bad yes there are crybaby's that want to report people but hey that's what happens when you game, don't blame the admins there rather nice and they try to help everyone just to know there not superman they can't help everyone when they need it.

 
well... i have been banned em a few times and i broke some rules, to be quite honest i don't see why they should rush to rule breakers posts and get them unbanned... if they have broken the server rules... they are the bottom of the "to do list", and if people report people for breaking rules well... thats good is it not ? keeping the server clean in all. and this is coming from someone who has been banned.

If you don't like it then post positive stuff rather than just flame and say its all going to shit. 

PS: not really my place to say this but if you don't like it.... then leave?

 
If people stick to the rules you wouldn't get 20 ppl banned on a daily base. Coz the admins to that stop our server turning in to the others where everyone rdm anyone anywhere thay do give 2 ed chances if you admitted what you did confirmed you read the rules and then just wait if your forgiven or not. I've tryed other servers out before and this one is the best one by far.

To be honest Outlaw, this was the wrong way to say it however I understand your point. Before I continue, let me make myself clear.

I do not think the server is going to shit.

The fact that the server is getting DDoS'd is something that needs urgent attention, it shouldn't be this vulnerable. To DDoS a server it takes either a lot of time or a lot of resources so the person doing this has too much time on their hands. In my opinion, I think altislife.co.uk should invest in professional DDoS protection with the extra money they are receiving from donations.

Regarding what you say about Wilco and the admins, I doubt they will disregard this post as they have proven to care about what the community thinks. However they would pay more attention if you approached the situation in a less..violent way. I don't know much about the staff team and their numbers however I do know that administrating anything is hard work. They have to deal with countless amounts of complaints, reports, compensation requests - you name it. People continue to claim about the lack of attention they get from admins however at the end of the day, each admin is doing loads of work daily that you don't know about. Although it seems so easy for an admin to just hop on and reply to your request, it's not so easy when 12 people are asking the same thing.

People will support admins under fear of disagreeing with them and getting punished or assuming that because of their status they must be right. It's like this in every community, but just because someone sides with an admin doesn't mean that person is kissing up to said admin. They are likely thinking for themselves. 

Perhaps you think admins should pay more attention and open their heart out more to unban requests rather following every rule in the book, that's fine. If you would say this in a way that won't make staff furious when they read the titles, I can assure you that they will listen. I am "siding" with staff here because I respect that admins of mature communities have a lot of work to do. I'm not saying that what you're saying is wrong, just keep in mind that there is more to it.

yes but what if the rule breaker wasnt them? They have to go through a long process of unban and who knows maybye there post wont even be looked at. And ti wasnt there fault

People get banned for breaking a small rule when in reality there was an out of roleplay reason behind it. A drastic example would be if someone logs out because of a serious family issue or their arma crashes in the middle of a gunfight. This kind of thing needs to get reviewed by admins and some people don't try and sort the problem out with the person, instead they just rush to the forums.

Reason why it is at the bottom of the todo list is because there will be lots of people with completely invalid arguments or "begging" for an unban, which is just a waste of time for the admins.

It shows you don't really no anything.

I love to hear peoples opinions what i don't like is non constructive criticisms... a little like the value of this thread.

Unbans are way at the bottom, If you find yourself banned then thats your fault really isn't it ? ... to say the server is going to shit there are loads that will disagree.

We for nearly 11 months have followed the same policy's and it keeps the idiots off the server and the roleplay high.

Yes this is a benevolent dictatorship and thats the only way a community of this size will run, All the admin team do every action for the good of the community.

Do not like that.... then i am sorry this community is not for you :)

 
Whats about the DDOS though? We havent been DDOSed in ages, and we have the best security our host offers. Unfortunately the fact is the small amount of bad packets that get through bombard the Arma 3 Server Application and render it offline due to the fact it cannot cope. So moan at BIS for not checking packets before doing stuff with them. Basically they send alot of packets, about 3/4 of them are removed at the DDOS Filter level, yet the other part of them get though and do the above.

 
Plus they have like 2,00 dollar in donations and some donators get banned but they donated. If cops just get deranked for doing something bad or if admins just get talked to then why do we get banned instantly? When commander maretek got reported they just talked to him nothing happend then he got reported again and the same thing nothing happened bc he was a admin. They are all like co-legs or something. A police officer gets de ranked bc he is a officer and they don't ban him. Why don't we get chances like that? Yea admins have been around longer but if they just get talked to then why don't we just get talked too? Pus if they get 2,00 dollars in donation every month why can't they afford good DDOS protection? Why can't they buy another server? Why can't they do more stuff for the server? Why cant they afford better maintence more admins?? If someone is a donator they should be talked too if they get reported same for non donators we should be treated equally. But now I regret giving you my money that I worked for. Just getting banned over some idiot crying about me shooting them in the face after they ran over my friend. Treat us equally or ban some admins or fucking cops

  • Donators getting banned... Of course they do if they don't follow the rules this is very clear in the donator terms

5. Being in the VIP Club or donating does not exclude you from the main server rules or their punishments for a player. The rules will be enforced equally to all players and as such, if you become banned, no refunds will be issued.

  • The report about Maratek was stuff i have seen and known about before which i have had words with him about, My admin team answer to me no one else... and believe me there rules are more strict than our members.

  • The police deal with day in day out hundreds of people and a high percentage trolls, Any police who do not follow the rules do get banned depending on the rules... others get deranked or removed from the police.

  • £2000 a month ? No that was 1 month so far and if spending that all on hardware and protection helped it would of been spent... in terms of DDOS protection we have the best that a datacentre offers in the world... I do not believe from what you have wrote you even understand DDOS... there are many forms of it... You could say PS4 and Microsoft get billions... why dont they have better ddos protection ?... Believe me our ddos protection stops alot of attacks, Some of them more recently have been very targeted and custom to our server.

  • Your comments about better server maintenance, better servers, more servers.... i dont understand what you mean and i think you do not understand what your typing.... Please explain to me what you mean... if its about slots time and time again i have said we are about quality and not quantity, Our police force is struggling with 2 servers... any more then the quality of training will suffer.

  • Again you go on about donators, We make it very clear before you donate that you have the same set of rules.

  • And now your continuing to swear some i ve stopped taking your post seriously, Please explain to me what we should spend our donators money on... this is not a pay to win server, donations are not needed but they help alot seeing myself i am fulltime and for the first 3 months before we had donations i funded the server/webserver/teamspeak/licences all from my own pocket and will continue to do so when the hype and members die down until we are the last altis server online and beyond... who else has promised that ?
 
Sorry for going off and extragting but still why do admins and police officers jsut get de ranked or a talk too?

They put a lot of time into the server some of them 10 hours a day for the last 11 months, when there not on the server there on teamspeak.

But its not just police officers who have had a talk and a kick up the ass before, I have done it to civs/unmc and medics.

I have also banned police in the past and will continue to do so but most of there training involves learning about the game and hanging around people who know the rules off by heart.

Police breaking the rules in the last 11 months ? Not very many and thats the solid truth.

Right, the issue is the Police that have been deranked have broken the "Police Rules". The "Police Rules" are rules while being a officer and are not "Server Rules". Police rules and punishments range from a Suspension, Derank and Removal from the force. If they broke a Server Rule as an officer. It would be taken as any other player. The new admin rule we are brining in soon is that Admins cannot deal with reports from their own faction. Example: Maratek could not deal with Police Reports in the report a player area. Sovereign could not process UNMC ones. Kris, since he is in a gang could deal with any but his gang. You get the idea. The reason that the admins are not banned most of the time is the fact if they are banned it would cause a issue that they cannot do their duties. We have although said that they are forced to play in admin mode, effectively banning them from the server for a time period, yet permitting them to do their duties when they wish to.
