Self Defense in case of VDM

Someone tries to blatantly VDM. They may not have intiated, however consider that they are trying to hurt you, and realistically you would try to defend yourself, also there's no admins. My question is are you allowed to shoot someone who tries to blatantly or does VDM me?

Depends on the situation. If it's in greenzone and that person is constantly doing it and no admin is responding then yes. However, just because he runs you over doesnt mean then you can break rules also.

Just because he's blatantly VDMing you, doesn't give you the right to do anything back. Always act accordingly to the rules. Better safe than sorry.

I have seen people breaking rules because the other party broke some rules and the results were both parties had punishment handed to them.

You could always try to contact an admin on teamspeak if there is none, just suck it up. Why risk getting banned for some morons?

As unfortunate and annoying as it is to be the victim of a rule breaker or troll, the official answer is no. Two wrongs don't make a right. Record and report. 

If you do end up dying, you can fill out a compensation request assuming you can provide evidence.

If someone randomly starts shooting you that gives you reason to shoot them in self defence as long as they are clearly trying to hurt you. 

What's so different about someone using a gun to harm you rather then obviously trying to harm you with a vehicle?

Wouldn't someone trying to harm you with their car count as initiation as they are attacking you in such a way that you may die?

I see people saying I contradicted myself? I've had situations where there was 6-7 cars in greenzone ramming everyone and constantly doing it so I was told Im allowed to shoot them to stop them as they were ruining the experience for everyone.

What I meant was, if he just VDM'd you by accident or just once then use common sense, theres no point in breaking rules as then, as you said you would be contradicting yourself / a hypocrite however if there are doing it excessively and no admin is dealing with it then whats the problem with using a weapon to help everyone in the area?

If they VDM you in a car, or run you over and over, then you can't really shoot them anyway

and if someone is trying to purposely vdm you, just initiate on them when they drive past/into you?

Why would you need to break the rules to stop them? If they repeatedly run people over or try to, you can initiate on them. Chances are they fuck up their tires, drive slow enough for you to realisticly be heard from inside the vehicle, while shouting and pointing your weapon at them. If they don't stop, i wouldn't even stop at shooting their tires. If your initiation is good enough, just straight up murder them. At least that is what I would do, but I'm no authority here ofcourse xD. It all comes down to roleplay isn't it.. If you are armed with a weapon and your character doesn't mind violence, why would it be bad RP or breaking rules if you first threaten the fuck out of the driver of a slow driving car that has left a clear rampage in it's wake and to then kill the driver for not complying to the threats or demands to stop =). I don't think not being hurt because of VDM script is a excuse to let it go from an RP point of view. Someone still drove people over. Actions -> Consequence.

Also, if it's in a greenzone, you just step inside the bar and get off the road. Nothing more you can do. Have a cold one =).
