If the 'complete ownership' part is the case, why do you scrap vehicles when you kill someone? How can you prove their identity?Nope, there needs to be illegal items inside of the vehicle and we also need complete proof of ownership of the vehicle just in case it was stolen.
I'll rephrase what I said. We check the registration on our PNC and look through the latest Police dispatches. If there is nothing there written in stone that the vehicle has been stolen well then yes it will be scrapped especially in a gunfight. I believe you already knew the answer to this question, being an ex-cop.If the 'complete ownership' part is the case, why do you scrap vehicles when you kill someone? How can you prove their identity?
Did you see it getting scrapped by the police because there might be a chance when you got kicked of that someone else (civilian) stole your helicopter and brought it to the scrap yard?Well mine is scrapped yesterday because it was parked at the coke pro with nothing inside. But thx, then I know it for the next time
Well thanks for this info. I hope the man who scrapped my chopper will think twice next timeWhen Police are scrapping a vehicle they should ALWAYS be confirming the owner before attempting to scrap!
If a vehicle is full of drugs/weapons or the person has been doing illegal activities, they have to confirm that they are indeed the owner before authorising a scrap.
This is also the reason why if you steal a helicopter full of drugs and bring it to a PD, we are unable to scrap the vehicle as their is no evidence from our perspective that confirms the owner. From our perspective you could have stolen the helicopter, no drugs inside; then proceeded to fill the vehicle up with illegal goods then "frame" the other party for committing illegal crimes with this vehicle.
- If a helicopter/vehicle is abandoned in a drug related area/field with illegal goods with no confirmation of the owner, the officers are UNABLE to scrap. (Could have been someone else who stole the vehicle without the owner knowing!)
However, there are a few exceptions to confirming the owner, these are as follows:
- If in a combat situation and the police have witnessed an armed individual shooting at police officers jumping out of a car. If the personnel is killed, they are clear to scrap the vehicle as long as there is no message stating that the vehicle has been stolen!
- If the vehicle is illegal (.50 cal, Strider, Ifrit, Taru) Then it is to be scrapped on sight, regardless of who is driving the vehicle. (Its your responsibility not to lose it, or have it on our island.)
