I had one and once I start hearing things about them glitching, deleting files etc. I switched to the Plextor M5 pro which is great in my opinion.

I have the 840 as the OS drive on my home server.

TBH I haven't noticed anything slowing down on it, not that it is used as much as what the normal person would use theirs. I'm not too bothered either way was on sale for £60 for 250gb when I got it.
