You don't even want to know how difficult it is to learn how to skin from scratch. But I am guessing he used Photoshop to edit the actual image. But to obtain the image, that is another question.

Ah, the days when you could buy a fully Black and Red Ifrit Miss that skin, was very nice. Especially when you bashed people's heads in, in the redzone. Amazing times.
