Ahoy all!
I recently purchased Rust from humble bundle (Nice spot on that discount!) and decided to play last night. In the usual new game fashion, I ended up all nighting it. I've spent the last several hours learning the basics of the game, and actually building a pretty sweet first base (Stone / metal walls - metal doors). However, I did not intend the following happening.
Turns out, if you die with your keys you drop them, which is why my middle door is code! However, my perimeter doors are keys due to lack of resources at the time. My assumption was that if a player has build rights within the area, and the correct amount of wood, you would be able to create as many keys as needed even if you died. I was wrong. I am now trapped within my base that I spent several hours building because the devs thought it would be a great idea for keys to be a one-time creation thing (during that life).
So, if anyone can actually help me on this matter it'd be appreciated!
