Running Arma 3 at max settings ?

Redpath

Reverend woz 'ere.
I'm running Arma 3 at a mixture of medium to high settings, and getting around 50-60 FPS and occasionally dropping into the 40's

has anyone got any performance tips ?

I am running SLI 980's but I know arma is very CPU intensive so maybe its my CPU letting me down ?

Yep, the CPU is probably the bottle neck there.

If you can, get yourself some proper cooling and overclock?

I've got the 6700k and get anything from 45-60 fps at ultra on 4k

Have you ran any benchmarks? Would be interesting to see the results.

Arma doesn't support SLI, so i doubt there is a BIG bottleneck in arma 3(not sure about other games) however i'm running A3 @ high-ultra on a I5-4690k @4.3 ghz and it give's me about 30 - 40 fps in kavala and sometimes 60+ when the server is freshly restarted(outside of kavala ofc) I highly recommend you to OC your cpu.

It won't help the frames much, but definitely get a SSD. Makes life and loading better!

Arma is a 32bit process i think so wont use more than 3.5gb of ram anyway.

It's mainly CPU intensive so overclock that 4690k to about 4Ghz.

SSD will help with loading resources off the disk so will improve somewhat.

Arma is not/poorly optomised for SLI. try disabling it for ARMA.

I have an i5 6600k Skylake with GTX 770 SC 2GIG gdddr 5 ram 16 gig of ram samsung ssd and an asus Z170 motherboard and i get on max setting's around 60 to 70 fps it does drop in high detial areas but not by much goes to about 40 to 50 fps places like Kavala fergot to add i am using windows 10 pro 64 bit edtion
