Rules- questions!

Hi everyone- a friend and I have just started playing on this server together and I just wanted to clarify the rules applying to a couple of specific scenarios that I have dreamed up in my head and couldn't figure out myself  :p  wouldn't want to be caught out with a ban or something somewhere further down the line  :)

Situation 1:

Me and a friend are together, copper mining or something, and a firefight breaks out between him and another player that is trying to rob him or whatever.
This other player thinks that my friend is alone, but I have seen the situation unfold in the game (ie no metagaming over skype etc) and my friend is under fire, pinned behind cover or something.

Would I be able to shoot the other player down from a distance, to protect my friend as anybody would who saw their friend being shot at, or would that be classed as RDM because I wasn't originally involved or something?

Situation 2 (a bit more simple!):
Can you try to outrun the cops after they have turned on their sirens and are following you?
I only ask because I can't see a way they could actually get you to stop without RDM, which obviously they can't do (or maybe just waiting for you to wipeout on a corner  ).

Not that I'd be doing anything illegal, in case any of the APD are reading this    ;)

Thank you in advance to anyone who can provide me with a little insight on these things!

Thanks

Jamie

First i would say if you are under fire you might want to shout out and say something like, "if you don't stop shooting and drop you gun my mate will shoot you" then if they don't you mate open fire, however if he is with you i don't think there is anything wrong with that, i might be wrong,

And with the cops putting there sirens on, you and just gun it and try and get away there is no rule that says you need to stop, hope this helps and i hope you are enjoying your stay here.

Just Scream , i have snipers around drop your weapons!

but always try to say something like drop the weapons (when most of the times they turn to you and then you get blown in the face)

Thanks for the advice guys, let's hope I don't have to use it eh!

Haha yes it could go either way for me, even with a gun pointed at the back of their head.

We're enjoying our stay very much thank you, notably we've found the locals to be most pleasant :p we just might pitch up and try to make a name for ourselves on this island..

If you wanna join a Company thats fully focused on Legal runs and help the people of Altis be sure to take a look at Merchant Union , we are a company that just started but is still open for recruitment.

1. If your friend's life is in immediate danger you may open fire, e.g if they are actively shooting your friend, you're fine to kill them. HOWEVER, roleplaying it is MUCH preferred, although obviously riskier.

2. The police will chase you til you crash/you drive into one of their spike strips. Also note that shooting vehicle tires after/during a chase is NOT RDM, as it's in order to immobilise the vehicle. If you're driving to outrun the police, they will eventually become entitled to shoot your tires out/immobilise your vehicle in some other matter.

Hope this helps! @Jamie_1

The answer too situation 2.

The police have a rule called the 3 minute rule that indicates that when chasing a vehicle after 3 minutes of chasing police are authorized too engage on the tires too de-mobilize the car. Police can request for spike-strips too be placed on the roads too stop cars or if their is three police in a chase an RTU member can engage in a t-pat maneuver. Pit maneuver is considered VDM! You don't have too stop for the police but they will chase you and its actually considered evading police in a car witch is a prison sentence and a scrap of the car! The police will also chase you till you crash or they lose sight of your car!

Thanks for the additions there guys I definitely feel aot more confident with these situations now!

Thanks for the link @Salty Miller, I've actually spotted the recruitment drive for the company already and it seems it could be the perfect company for ourselves as humble merchants. I'll need to speak to my business partner but you may be receiving my/our applications shortly! It seems like a really good thing you've set up there, better together and all that!

Thanks

Jamie

Hehe, @Lecter, it was a collective "you" as surely such an amazing company is too much work for one singular person to set up? If that IS the case, though, then I'm even more impressed by your work  ;)

Saved? I hope this doesn't harm our chances of a successful application, if that's the path to prosperity we choose to take  ;)
