If enough people were interested would you consider reopening the Rust server, If I recall last time it was quiet popular for a good amount of time, personally I think it would be sick to have it back, Although last time we had a Rust developer who is now banned but I'm sure that wouldn't effect it too much if it was to go ahead.

Vanilla unfortunately wasn't very popular last time, but the first time when it was modded it was a huge success for a good few months.

When you say modded, How so like gather rate ect???

All half decent rust servers seem to die after a few days and get reset once a week. With this being said there is definitely no need to make buffs to the way you gain resources, craft or build. It would be nice if you made somewhat white listed in a sense to keep zurgs from joining it and destroying the server pretty quickly, as they will have every weapon and destroy every base within a couple days. 

Rust has changed a lot and no blueprints and the new crafting system means people can have the best items and massive bases extremely quickly, which severely limits the fun in playing the game as someone new, by yourself or just in general.
