Hello, does anyone know if it against Role Play if you type in chat to start up a RP situation ( say robbing ).

Example : Helicopter goes low, and passenger says : ''Stop or you die''(through chat and not VOIP). And if say that person kills the driver, will that be classed as RDM, or will it count as a RP situation.

It is gladly appreciated.

Depends on what server you are on, but to be on the safe side, just run on the assumption that ALL text chat is not RP.

 
What I'm about to say may sound harsh or may sound reasonable, but I refuse to roleplay with text, or I will roleplay with minimal effort. So if I'm stopped by someone using text I'll minimally roleplay with them, no effort.

 
Server 1 I think, and thanks, might add a compensation request. As you would imagine, truck + transporting things + 100k on you = disaster waiting to happen. They came down shooting, then he put in the chat : PULL OVER OR YOU WILL DIE or something like that, popped a tyre, so I stopped, they robbed me of my money, but not my resources, although I still felt as if they had not RP'ed enough. They shot before they even sent the chat message.

Yes, this is what I am trying to say, but also will it count as RP if people communicate via text, I find it to be : If you type in chat, thats out of RP, chat is within RP and you must use that. Many a time have I encountered similar situations and I've ended up on the wrong side because of chat RP.

 
Text [direct chat] should be used for Out of character responses only in my opinion.

I fully agree with stealthee, to be frank if you don't have a mic you shouldn't be playing on altis life
