Role-Play between Police and Rebels

First of all i am not here to cause drama between the police and rebels, i would just like to state a few of the problems i have been dealing with or seeing in the past few weeks and months as a patrolling officer. First of all i have been noticing that the Role-Play between gangs has been dropping in the last few months whether this is within a Bank OP, Hostage OP or just a general stop check. However i don't see the police being perfect either BUT we are constantly trying to improve on our Role-Play but we can't improve unless the Rebels do as well.

Second of all i would like to mention something about the multiple HM robbery's a day, i have no problem doing a bank job and i'm sure other officers will agree especially when it is quality RP, the police force has currently lost a lot of members which makes these situations even harder, but when you get the likes of [PLF] waiting for there to be 10 cops online (most of these being CSO,PCSO and PC) and robing it straight away with no negotiations just planting the charge it is getting out of hand, what infuriates me is when they get out 2 ifrits and D-Camp every officer they see knowing that they can't do anything about it as well as having officers responding and they just shoot them 6-7-800 meters away from the bank is not on. (a perfect example of this: http://plays.tv/video/5766ab51ed970e6e73/arma) i am not just saying this is just [PLF] it is other gangs as well.

Lastly the amount of hostage operations we are going through in one day is also getting out of hand, again i don't have a problem with it as well as many other officers but yet again always the carrier rigs, berets or there going to die. The police are not meant to give out police equipment but within RP we have to or the hostage is going to die.

I know that there is not much that can be done about these situations but i would like the gangs and other rebels just to boost there RP as well as the police force its not all about the shooty shooty but that is what i'm beginning to see, even if this means plan the HM, Hostage OP or what ever with a good story we will always be willing to meet demands if the RP is good.

If every Rebel just put some effort into RP instead of phew phew i think it would be alot funnier on the server.

But i would include Rebel to Rebel and Rebel to civ.

If we do that the cops would see and act more on good fate.

And to anyone reading, il rather laugh my ass off then spend 30 min in the liason room. Im not perfect,  but i am trying to become better.

And people think im crazy for suggesting pistols only, no one likes to be killed for 600-700m away.

Remove rifles from Altis and force people to come within distance. In turn will stop weapon farming, sniper on hill and increase RP due to less fear of losing so much. I think a great deal of people prefer to flex their shooting skills over their RP skills.

But hey what do I know :)

Interesting topic,

I would first point out for you to remove the gangs tags names and just put GANG in it...

Second thing mate, i led PLF 2 times to the bank for purpose of PURE roleplay,

Guess what?

We wanted half what the bank provided and i would turn my self in with a bounty of 6,5m, i told them we can negotiate even told them our locations on the map, 2 seconds later they came back with a deal, we would get 1 pound and we would be forced to surrender.

Yeah no, that pissed us off so we left, 10 sec later came back killed all the cops and took everything the bank had.

So tell me this, was this our fault or yours? And they get pissed because they die?

Why do they keep hiding that rebels don't try to negotiate, it makes no sense, it gets turned now on all sides on all offers, even 1 gold bar is to much to surrender.

As you can see, this is not just our side.... depending of the leading commander there is no way you can negotiate, i asked the moment negotiate came is it an AR leading it? He said yes and i just said no need to negotiate because i knew how it would turn out.

This is our official reply to your topic.

First of all hanging out a gang name I feel is very sad. We have several recommendations lately for our RP. And we keep getting positive feedback on TS and Ingame every day.
So saying we are just out for the shooty shooty is totally against everything PLF stands for if you read about us / check our handbook.

There is always 2 sides of 1 story,  that you actually say we "wait" until it's 10 cops online is 100% wrong. It's several times we've went in without knowing how many cops are online. What you should know is that we've tried to negotiate some times now (we are about 15 guys set up around the bank) we got told "you will get 1 pound or we open lethal force", so for us it feels like you cops actually wants to fight. So you shouldn't just straight up say "your fault and point fingers" because what you're saying is actually wrong, like when we had a hostage once, we had one negotiator that actually said we will get our demands, we were happy, then he had to //i have to go i'm really sorry, 10 seconds later another negotiator comes up "you are not getting it, you will release the hostage now before we open fire" so I don't see the point of you posting "rp between cops and rebels" because we roleplay with cops, and we’ve had so much fun roleplaying with them, but now you're kinda throwing PLF under the bus without any solid evidence.

The situation you point to was in the middle of a bank job, and you drive straight into a ifrit within 1km of the bank job, and you knew there were a firefight going on. If you come up the road and you see an ifrit in front of you, why didn't you turn off the highway or see if you can get some defensive possition.

We can agree that the RULE about the bank job should change. When the charge is placed there is apparently “no room for negotiations”, and that kills the chance for negotiations pretty fast. At least before there HAD to be negotiations before a firefight happened. Something that I feel is way better. And we start taking shots at the same time as we open fire. And yeah we open fire when the charge is placed for 1 simple reason. “All negotiations are off when charge is placed” we have been told several times. So if we don't do that, we will take fire and get killed.

As it has been said there is always two sides of a story/situation. We can all agree on the roleplay being lowered around bank ops. The reason for this is unknown (mby since the rule is that negotiations is of when charge is placed), but simply blaming the rebels, police, UNMC or admins is not going to solve anything. It is a combination of everything. Everybody has had good and bad moments with all factions. The players make the roleplay, meaning it involves all factions.

Over the last couple of weeks PLF have tried a couple of new ways of creating some roleplay through propaganda videos, hostage ops, torture sessions etc. We believe it is a fun and entertaining way to create some roleplay. We have seen examples of other gangs doing the same after we posted our first video.

But as we said, we feel the rule is killing the negotiations + we have not had any good negotiations the last weeks when we always get shut down in all our attempts. Roleplay is a two way street, and both factions have to give a arm for this to be possible!

Best regards

It's a circle; An officer (regardless of rank) delivers low quality roleplay on a rebel, of whom reacts with low quality roleplay which therefore means a low quality situation. Both parties involved go off and sub-consciously decide 'that was shit, it's not going to get better so let's just do it again to et them back/they don't deserve high quality roleplay' and then more people end up suffering and it happens again. If both sides had no bad apples it would be perfect; unfortunately we both have bad apples on the tree.

This argument has been going on since the server started and will always be an issue; there's no resolution, just a strive to get better.

If you want to see a measure of the quality of roleplay, look at the recommend a player forum. Probably would be more if we didn't have to break fun RP to the next generic hostage situation with minimal roleplay, meta gaming and bending of the rules or bank op.

I hate posts like this,

this is clearly going to cause drama as you have 'named and shamed' a gang, who although I hate to say it, more than often output a high level of roleplay.

You've given 0 suggestions and as far as I'm concerned this post has absolutely no value to the forums, provides nothing but drama.

Just clarify. You are basing who is the best roleplays on the recommendation forum?

The moment you accused a gang of doing something is when you cause shit storms.  PLF always provided me with enjoyable RP.. and the ten cops thing... I can tell ya now most of em would rather do it with 30 cops on than 10.

The   No the Bomb planted no negotiations was brought in I think was due to rebels delaying RP and moving + filling trucks.

Can't wait til the boat arrives to take me to Tanoa. hopefully no big rifles and shooty mcwooty all the time there.

I wanna patrol on jet skis and maybe get the odd pistol shootout lol

I have to agree with you here Mystic. And also it is not just rebels it is also cops with bad roleplay.

This is a roleplay server mate
Not sure if you are being sarcastic but i would much rather deal with a pistol shootout as police than rebels with their "snipers" bullshit rp.

RP on Atlis sometimes involes gunplay, it is Arma afterall - Mate

You mean on the opinion of the community? Yeah. Hobos generally prefer RP with the police than the usual "hands up!" trollfest that constitutes the majority of encounters.
