Brief Summary:
Improve / Rework several parts of the house decoration menu to allow for a better experience.
Detailed Suggestion:
This suggestion is quite multi-faceted, so bear with me, as someone who loves base building and decorating in video games I was excited to get a house on RPUK, but the decoration system is frankly pretty bad, with a slow UI at the hardware store, long trips to buy furniture, and an overall sluggish experience, it leaves a lot to be desired.
Part 1: Remove the Need for the Hardware Store
Firstly, I think you should be able to be able to buy the furniture straight from your house instead of going all the way to the hardware store every time you want a new piece of furniture. This would mean you can decorate more freely without having to pre-plan the exact furniture you will use.
Part 2: Expand Furniture Options
Currently, the furniture options are a bit lacking, I would personally love to see a wider range of furniture and decorations for sale, maybe even wall pieces to create new rooms in your house.
Part 3: Allow Free-cam when Decorating
Allowing free-cam when decorating would be very useful to allow you to get multiple angles and move around the house quickly, as well to make it easier to make precise placements of furniture.
Part 4: Give Faster Movement and More Precise Controls for Decorations
The current system for moving furniture is very cumbersome, if you own a large house it takes ages to properly decorate it because the props move at a snails pace and always begin at the doorway.
The Pros:
- Make house decorating bearable
- Allow people to express themselves through their house - maybe even turn it into some sort of hideout for gangs without a turf
The Cons:
- The increased amount of props might affect server performance.
Does this suggestion change balance on the server ?
The only real way I see it affecting server balance, is that some people might try to turn their house into some sort of rust-esque base with peaks and vantages and whatnot, but I doubt this will really have a large impact seeing as shootouts inside of houses are extremely rare.
