Restraining from front?

So when I first joined the cops and went on my first patrol I got told to always restrain from the from the back since it's more realistic and got told it's not allowed from the front.

But I have seen loads of high ranked and low ranked officers doing it from front. So is it really allowed to do or is it a no?

If they put their hands up you can restrain them how you like. But if they are not moving and just standing still you should walk behind them and do it.

From what I understand there's no police rule against it but it's certainly more realistic. It's a very little thing, but like Busterguy said, just try to do it when you can but don't fuss about it too much.

As with many things, there's nothing to stop you doing it. However, if there is a roleplay benefit to doing something, why wouldn't you?

If someone restrains you from the front I wouldn't exactly start calling fail RP on them, but I think that if the situation permits it (aka not in combat etc.) a good roleplayer should and often will go the extra mile to make it feel more immersive.

I like to ziptie from the back myself, but as always, do what you think feels right on a case to case basis but don't get too hung up over it.

ive had other officers @INS Coozerfor instance help me grab the persons arm while i got the other and put him in restraints (he didnt know the key bindings).

it can be rp'ed different ways for the same outcome
