Your In-game Name: Jack Buxton

Name and/or ID of the player(s) you are reporting: Wai Soh | 15

Which server did the incident take place on: GTA RP

Date of the incident: 10/11/23

Time of the incident (GMT) 24hr Format: 1900

What best describes this incident ?: Roleplaying Injuries/Powergaming

Please (in detail) describe the incident: I was on patrol on my own as Frontline response. I ran into Wai Soh assaulting a local which I thought in character was to get a car and also still think the same OOC. I arrested him after beating the local member and took him to PD. After he tried to pour gas in the PD cells I tried to restrain him but he decided to assault me. Whacked him a few times with my ASP and took him to the hospital.
After he was healed I took him to get his clothes and items back. He asked to be unrestrained which ooc I have to otherwise he cant get his stuff back. Using this knowledge that I had to unrestrain him he then tried to escape.
My argument is he is abusing the game mechanic which ensures cuffed people cant get clothes/items back and then started to try and attack me which I then tried to restrain him. He somehow fought this of even after being tased and used the elevator to go to the main hospital. Was further tased 3 times and still managed to resist the cuffs and run away.
After being hit and tased 5 times he was still going I dont see how this is realistic, this wasnt really fun for me as I had to unrestraint him for him to get his clothes and items back. I have no other way of doing this and this then leads to him escaping because he can actually run away and fight back.

This report is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!: Yes

Hi apologies for the late reply I have just been made aware of this report.

I don't understand why you have reported me. You didn't contact me via the OOC chat to talk about any problems within this interaction.
In this situation I have not powergamed, it is not a requirement for police to uncuff someone to let them take there items and clothes from pillbox.
In this situation I have asked you to uncuff me which you did so I have a window of opportunity to escape.
I asked you to uncuff me so that I could take my items and run off, this is not powergaming.

In roleplay it makes sense for you to uncuff me so that my hands are free to grab my items, obviously in roleplay I can't grab my items with my hands restrained.

You had the choice to uncuff me, you were not forced to uncuff me. You had to uncuff me anyway because I was grabbing my clothes and items.

All I try to do on my characters is create funny scenarios for all, I don't see why this is a report could have easily been discussed ooc.

There are many ways that you could have prevented the escape.
You could have locked the elevator.
Wai Soh is a character known for creating chaos and escaping handcuffs, you should have asked for assistance before releasing my hands.
There are lots of ways you could have prevented the escape.

Alright, let's have a look at this report 🔍

First of all, thank you for reporting this @Corner Wookie& @_Ryanfor replying.

There are two rules that are believed to have been broken, 1. Failure to roleplay injuries & 2. Powergaming. I'll break these down separately with the footage provided.

1. The pressure point for this I imagine is your issue of the player being tased, and still being capable to resist arrest & flee on foot. I personally see nothing wrong with this, there are game mechanics to demonstrate and roleplay these injuries primarily with the force ragdoll and shaking of the player. Once you place them into handcuffs, it cuts the animation allowing the player the opportunity to resist arrest and escape. There is nothing wrong with what they did here, and it happens very often. Enjoy the thrill of the chase! And hopefully you'll have better luck catching him next time.

2. It is your belief the player "abusing the game mechanic which ensures cuffed people cant get clothes/items back" is powergaming. However this isn't powergaming in any case. You could, in all technicality, remove the players items from the box (Using the game mechanic given to Police) to simply hand back their items one at a time - I would not recommend doing this. It's a form of good faith and in the spirit of not shutting down roleplay to let them remove their own items. Your then further argument is him using the elevator to his advantage, which there is a mechanic for Police to prevent criminals doing this exact thing however that you need to discover within roleplay. You also missed your tasers when he was at the button, so he didn't abuse it there either.

There is a mechanic for criminals to resist arrest for a reason, it is not a rulebreak for them to use this. There are mechanics & other solutions that can prevent this exact situation from happening, as to how you use those, you need to discover that within roleplay and is an important part of your characters development and learning curve. You are still a new-ish police officer, this will happen from time to time, take it on the chin and learn for next time!

Given the above:
