What best describes this incident: RDM: Attacking another player without engaging in any form of quality roleplay is considered RDM
Please (in detail) describe the incident: I did not manage to get his in game ID at the time as I do not like to report and hoped a conversation would resolve any concerns I had and maybe provided this person with some insight on how to properly go about a similar situation in the future.
His Discord nickname was obtained during our liaison.
The time of the incident should be correct with 2-3 minutes if staff can get his ID this way.
This report is from my POV initially. After the scenario had concluded I had been informed of the build up between the other person present prior to my own arrival.
I had logged on to the server on my old man character to join in on some late night shenanigans with a few friends.
After about 10 minutes in the server after visiting the Gym I contacted my friend Alfie to find out where he was at and met up with him along Great Ocean highway where they were robbing a store. At this time Alif was with a fella name Francis and another of our friends playing as Iris.
Francis decided to fly out after the finished robbing the shop I had met them at then Alfie, Iris and I decided to hit the shop across the road as there was no police response so far and we felt it was safe to do so.
After robbing the shop we were having a bit of a laugh outside with the spoils and deciding on our next steps which would have been going to pillbox to have my injuries looked at then decide what to do from there.
Whilst outside a car approached and said "That's not your car" to which I responded, "aye that's no my car". His response was "I know its not your car before reversing a little and opening fire on Alfie. As he had already shot I decided my best course of action was to flee because he was clearly out for blood. I heard the click of his weapon and decided to try for the car in hopes he was out of ammo which ultimately didn't work and thus I decided to flee to the roof where a bit of cat and mouse went on before he finally managed to shoot me. Off screen Iris was killed but I am not sure of the whole RP that happened during this time, I understand they had a conversation of sorts with her before she too was shot.
I feel that him simply arriving and making that little statement about the car before opening fire was RDM as he has not provided any form of quality RP before taking such a hostile action. He had reversed to a distance that in my opinion, allowed him to aim his weapon and potentially control the actions of all 3 of us and could have told us to stay there and given any sort of demand whilst waiting for his friends to arrive as they did during the incident.
We had a conversation in QE after the situation had been finished and we had been dumped (I could maybe argue this also being poor RP, shoot and dump but personally this doesn't bother me), it transpired that Alfie and Francis had stolen a car that had belonged to one of his friends, I'm assuming one of the people that had arrived during the incident.
Whilst I agree that this would give his character every right to be upset and want to find the culprits. I can even understand why he thought I was involved as he had been told by his friends that 2 old men had stolen the car and therefore would have assumed, wrongly or not, that I was the other old fella even though I wasn't.
My issue is that no roleplay had been provided to myself before shots had been fired and from my understanding a good 20-30 minutes had passed since the vehicle had been stolen. I'm not sure if he was there when the car was stolen either so I cant comment on whether or not he seen the other old man involved but ultimately he got the wrong person. Regardless, the RP provided before becoming physically hostile was not sufficient.
Unfortunately no understanding could be reached in QE as he feels he has done nothing wrong. I therefore feel that I have no other option than to make a report as I feel the RDM rule has been broken and to offender won't take accountability with the potential to improve in the future.
