Report a player

Your In-game Name: Ernest Graham

Name and/or ID of the player(s) you are reporting: Jack Vally - 210

Which server did the incident take place on: GTA RP

Date of the incident: 09/28/22

Time of the incident (GMT) 24hr Format: 1300

What best describes this incident ?: RDM & FailRP

Please (in detail) describe the incident: I got on my bike and was about to leave the beach area as I had conducted my business there. As I was leaving, I spotted a police officer running on the street. He clearly tackled me off my bike without saying a word and there was quite the distance between us, he stated that he "tripped on the curb" but I feel as if this was just a poor excuse in an attempt to catch people slinging drugs. He attempts to interrogate me from the very start and mocks my character by sniffing at him, at this point my character was clearly angered by his actions so I called him out and demanded his badge number, full name and card. He continues to mock me as I write down his information, but does share it once requested without causing a fuss. He continues to press me further about the supicious activity in the area and eventually realizes that I'm not having it, I essentially tell him that I know nothing of what he is speaking about and that I just want to be rid of him. He took his leave and I went on my way.

I attempted to reach out to Jack Vally via the OOC chat roughly 30 minutes after the incident and sat in Police Liasion for quite some time but couldn't get ahold of him unfortunately. My main issue is that he tackled me off my bike without saying a word, how he continues to press my character about the suspicious activity in the area even though there are multiple locals walking around which should also be considered as people who could be slinging drugs as well, even though they are just NPCs. I'm reporting this as I wish to educate myself when it comes to the quality of roleplay provided by the police on the server, this encounter didn't feel realistic to me at all unfortunately nor was it of high quality in my opinion.

This report is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!: Yes

You tried to resolve the situation with the player(s) before reporting: Yes

This is not a revenge report (Abuse will lead to forum/community bans): Yes

You attempted to reach out 30 mins after the incident? that's a lengthy old time to wait before you attempt to reach out to someone don't you think?  I mean I don't think I was even still in the server then, In fact I'm pretty sure I was already on my way to McDonalds to grab some lunch and pick up my daily scratch card, Also you literally replied to me on discord yesterday evening so I'm slightly confused as to why you wouldn't just ping me a msg on there if you felt so disgruntled and obviously knew who I was?

Looking into it further your reply was regarding my boot patrol video (which was hilarious and awesome if I do say so myself) Which you showed obvious distaste for:

I cant help but think you've jumped to the opportunity to sling this report up because of an OOC video I made that you disliked on discord,

Either way the report itself seems rather petty and pathetic if I'm brutally honest, Sorry you got so upset by my horrendous and hideous actions, If you must know we had been chasing someone on a bike dealing all morning who looked very similar hence the tackle and no words, this was in hope of not letting you get away again (had attempted 2-3 times to stop this certain individual) upon realising you weren't the chap I gave you a quick sniff and let you on your way (I know criminal right) I could of apologised but unfortunately my cop chars persona is that of an arrogant slightly bent copper with an extremely strong jawline and great hair, But yeh I believe this is only my second report In all of 2 years I've been on this server (and the first one got removed due to a confusion/graphics glitch error) So I would like to think that shows you I'm not actually a bad RP'ER or someone who as you say "RDMS"

But yeh happy to let the admins deal with this and punish me in whatever way they deem fit.

Kind Regards

I'd like to point out that whatever took place regarding the video that you posted yesterday in the discord, it has nothing to do with this whatsoever. I'll admit it is a smart way of catching criminals but not realistic whatsoever in my opinion. Just because I voiced an opinion that is negative towards you that doesn't mean that I have something against you, because I really do not. Whatever took place here is completely unrelated to the video you made, I'll admit it was funny to watch but I don't expect something like that to take place on a serious roleplay server.

Just because you pursued someone that looked exactly like me, it doesn't allow you to just tackle me without saying a word. It is your responsibility to positively identify the suspect and have enough proof before acting at all.

Like I said previously, I made this report simply because I want to know what is expected of me when it comes to the quality of roleplay and how serious this server is overall. I have been told on multiple occassions by many people apart of this community that high quality of roleplay should be maintained whilst playing on the server and I can only assume realism should be promoted by all players not just a few.

I just cant imagine someone willing to go through the time and effort it takes to put up a report over such a mundane and lets be honest joke of a situation, look I am sorry if me wasting 1:40 minutes of your day made you feel that upset and valid to potentially get me banned (as that is what the report system is mostly used for) I get that it may of seemed unprofessional and to a quality of RP you don't think is worthy, But I feel a simple chat with me on discord (as lets be honest you knew exactly who I am and how to reach me) would of sufficed, but I apologise hawkzy for how I went about my RP with you this morning and hope you don't think less of me because of it, I could of done a bit better I wont deny.

The report itself may seem petty and pathetic to you but as I stated previously, I'm just looking to educate myself and that is exactly why it is important to me. I want to make something clear, I'm not upset with you out of character and I definitely do not think less of you. I made the report so that I could learn what is and isn't to be considered high quality roleplay. I want to know what is expected of us all as players when it comes to roleplay on the server and how we can help better the standard of roleplay overall.

I did try to chat with you, I reached out via the OOC chat roughly 30 minutes after the fact. The only reason why I didn't reach out sooner is because I didn't want to do so mid roleplay as I got carried away and had to wait until I was out of roleplay. I could have decided go the extra mile but didn't think of it because I had already utilized the OOC chat and was sat in Police Liasion for over 30 minutes after reaching out there.

Fair enough mate, Not sure that the player report system is the go to tool for educational purposes but hopefully the admins can clear it all up for you.

First and foremost, FailRP is not a rule.

Next, we need to answer the question, was this RDM? Did the officer in question attack you without engaging in RP (as is required by the server's definition to fit the claim of RDM)? The answer is no. Now, could the RP before the initial tackle have been better? Yes, of course it could, but the context of the situation is that you are driving off on a bike for what the police believed to not be the first time. Whilst him shouting "stop" or something similar at you would have been better than the nothing said, the context of this situation is no harm has been done to anyone, nothing was lost and the police didn't escalate the situation. Within RP, there is an allowance for people to make mistakes, to mis-identify without being banned, roleplay is not scripted, you don't have all of the information.

Had he tackled you off the bike and robbed you, or tackled you off the bike and arrested you, shot you, downed you or something similar, the outcome here may very well be different. However, he tackled you off the bike and provided you with RP that was different from the norm. He wasn't trying to win, he wasn't trying to start a shootout or make an arrest, he was roleplaying, using information that the police had been given and asking questions.

If you feel the tackle was an inappropriate use of force, that the police have mis-identified you or that the officer is abusing his powers, there are in-character avenues for you to take, but that is an in-character problem, not something we as staff are going to deal with.

Given the context, we will not be punishing someone for a tackle, this is an in-game issue for you to deal with.
