Hello @Ant Toe - thank you for taking the time to make this report.

We need actual evidence of who you're reporting here - "Grove Member (Maybe Eric?)" doesn't cut it.

Hello, this is me in the clip. I don't appreciate you jumping to conclusions and instantly assuming that it is being racist. If it made members feel uncomfortable then why was there no message in ooc or a call to QE to clarify any concerns? I have no idea that they are a "black member", I have no clue what any of your members look like or what races they are, nor do I care to find out as we are playing a game.

I appreciate you coming forward and owning up.

The person you're talking to is black. You referred that black man as "a fucking monkey", and now you're telling me we shouldn't interpretate that as racist?

Hey @Ant Toe

Can I ask why you have placed this report and not whoever has been made to feel uncomfortable? While I understand the evidence might be from your POV if they are the person who has been made to feel uncomfortable they ideally should be the ones to let staff know about it and attempt to resolve the issue with the other party as stated in the Report Guidelines

Before making a report, we request that you attempt to solve the issue like adults. This can be done by politely asking the player to come to TeamSpeak or Discord through the use of the in-game out of character (OOC or LOOC) chat. Once in Teamspeak or Discord, you can attempt to solve the issue without getting Staff involved. While this is not mandatory, it is greatly encouraged and failure to do so can hinder your report.

With that stated would yourself/Whoever it was that was made to feel uncomfortable in this situation be willing to Liaise with @Chappie

I placed the report due to numerous individuals having stated that it made them feel uncomfortable, myself included. Such blatant and malicious comments that are made to insult someone are absurd and no-one has the right to make such remarks.

I appreciate you coming forward and owning up.

As I Stated before I have no clue what race they are or assuming they are Black , it was not meant in a malicious way at all and if I knew it made you and other uncomfortable then I wouldn't have said it I feel like a simple LOOC would have been nice and I would've then known for future roleplay not to mention it.

The character you offended is black. At what point would you deem your comments appropriate at all?

So why am I here talking to you and not the person I offended surely they should've been the one reporting me.

But to answer your question , monkey is just generally used as an insult, like dog or donkey well that how I use it anyway.

Also how am I supposed to know it makes anyone uncomfortable without being told or asked not to call them it , I feel this has jumped the gun a bit and could've been solved really easy.

Hello @Ant Toe - thank you for taking the time to make this report, and thank you @Chappie for your replies.

This is Erik from grove street.
This is still not good enough, I don't know who Erik from grove street is, nor do I know what he sounds like. When reporting someone, concrete proof of who they are is needed so there is no room for interpretation. In this case, using /sessionheads whilst the alleged offender is speaking in combination with an accurate timestamp etc.

I'm not convinced the word "monkey" is used with racial intent here. I agree with @Chappie when he says that this more in line with a generic insult; dog, rat etc.

If you (or others...) have interpreted this as racist, then the best thing to do would've been to make people aware in /LOOC or in a liaison - jumping straight to the forums has made a lot of work out of something that could've been a quick conversation between adults.

Report Declined.
