Reduce the likelihood of closed clams being found while panning.

Hi all,

I pan every day. Since todays update the amount of stuff one would typically pan for have been going down due to the spawn rates of closed clams. Each clam spawn is quantity one and within a hour of panning I found 57 closed clams therefore that has been 57 drops where it could have been a material but I got a clam instead. Up until today these drops would have been from the previous drop tables.

Is is possible to reduce the frequency so that panning is not as severely affected?

I don't mind having clams but the amount of spawn at the moment is effecting the other spawns quite some.

Thank you for reading my post and please upvote if you agree.

While I am not going into details, this is currently the main source for obtaining clams. I can of course lower the chances, but to avoid making the clams a super rare item, the chance needs to stay slightly higher then the other materials. This is untill something else is added.

EDIT: looking at the code, the chances of getting clams are slightly over the chances of getting plastic bags, so I dont know if plastic bags or clams, but something will always be in abundance🤷‍♂️

Is it a possiblity to change the spawn amount of clams so its not just one and in return reduce the likely hood of spawning ? This is currently reducing coal from 200 to 100 and alu from 200 to 100 per hour so its roughly a 50% drop in productivity at the minute from the previous update.

The issue is 9-15 plastic sheets or 8 coal coke or 4 cash wads etc for example is not a good trade off for 1 closed clam every time, especially when you don't always get clam meat from the clam and thats only worth 250£

9 plastic sheet = 1800£ -> 1 closed clam = 50/50 chance of 250£
8 coal coke = 480£ -> 1 closed clam = 50/50 chance of 250£

Just about every item would have been worth more than the clams, essentially its been nerfed.

so I would ask if you want to keep the current rate of clams to buff panning as at the minute it has been nerfed and I don't believe that was the intention considering how much Miners make now some 300k to 400k an hour.

I am the one after all supplying many peeps with their coal coke at the moment and I will be able to obtain votes for this reason. and I am supplying nobles IC and others. I am the only one who does panning to this extent. I would really appreciate if my feedback is considered.

thank you for taking the time to read this.

Edit: you could also make it so that binoculars can be sold again or remove them to balance it. Removing binoculars might be the move here as binoculars are the most dead weight item that I have personally left over 2000+ on the ground, nobles pays nothing for them, there is no local that takes them, and there is very low demand for them. And if done that will give more incentive to make binoculars?

Just browsing the forums, seeing what is happening - I don't have strong opinions on panning, clams or what not - I've not been able to play as much since the most recent update.

But could a solution to everyone's problem be a fishing net - as a purchasable item, like the rod, that catches clams, small fish and maybe the occasional bit of junk?

panning has since been updated with one of my suggestions, it is now possible to find multiple clams
