Red Zone

Hello.

So I was talking to someone in the NHS earlier and he mentioned something which made me think.

He said,

"How can we be a serious roleplay community if we have a large area where shoot on sight is allowed?"

And honestly, I completely agree. I understand it reduces RDM in non red zones but what I don't like is that it is so big and things you may want to visit and RP in are there... Like gang bases or quadbike racing.

Maybe change it to the old "drug island" being red zone again with only a few fight areas in it?

What do you guys think?

Because it's a completely optional area with little advantages over the non-redzone areas, and is usually used as an outlet for everyone's justifiable urge to just shoot some shit. Going to the Rebel Outposts should be sketchy as all hell, you're buying illegal items after all. Otherwise, we'd stretch the police's men a bit in regards to areas they patrol, and potentially force people onto servers with the Wasteland mission when they want to shoot some people up.

Personally give PLF the old rebel island that can be our own red zone i think the red zone has been set up to house all rebel gangs, if we ever get more than 3 rebel gangs that can last more than a week on the server it will quickly fill up, could say it keeps the low lifes out of the way lol

Yes, it's optional to go there, even in the NHS. But if I decide to go there (which happens a lot) you've always got a risk of being shot at. Gang bases should be a place for RP in my opinion. Also move the quad racing etc out red zone so we can RP more .

I suppose it could be like the old days when all the east side including Paros, Pyrgos and Sofia were in the red zone.

Yeah I wondered that, red zone is for rebel bases... but rules are technically out of the window such as RDM and stuff in that area... which is weird.. it really obscures roleplay... that could be changed maybe?

I do HIGHLY agree that quad racing shouldn't be there. IMO the racing track at the Airport is more than capable of housing quad bikes, and even cars if you're feeling brave.

In reality the red zone is so feared and avoided it's actually the safest place to be on the island,because it is almost always empty aside from spawning gang members with bases and people occasionally gearing up down there which isn't that often anymore.

Most people drive up to the UNMC Black Market for guns and it's become the new focal point of robbery and violence,because people can't shoot on sight,they see the RP as a delaying tactic to take advantage of people. We frequently hear about firefights going down there,usually with people trying to sneak in with helicopters to avoid us. On the bright side they end up caught and dead most of the time.

I quite like the red zone, its a place where you always have to be on your guard, its like a warzone, you never know what's around the corner. RP is very limited there but I guess the RP scenario is technically a war zone between all the rebel basses. My group are soon getting a Rebel base and there are 3 others so its a nice place for that. 

People can still RP there, I have had a number of good RP situations there, you just have to have your wits about you because you might come up against a rebel group.
