No they are not illegal. But the police is always allowed to stop you. No matter what you're wearing. But they are not allowed to always search you. Although rebel guns are illegal! And if seen they will be taken of you

Diablo is correct - rebel clothes are not illegal and the police can take no official action against you for wearing them, but criminal profiling is a very real thing and if they opt to pull you over because you're wearing rebel gear, that is well enough in their rights. They cannot, however, search your person or vehicle for simply wearing the gear. If a situation such as this happens, I am sure that the police complaints commission would be happy to hear about it.
