I've been in this community for about 2 years and I'm still not sure confident in this area. So now my fingers are tying this question. With Police or Medics, is it bad RP or if you read out there rank and say, "It's on your badge" or is it best to ask what rank they are and then address them as whatever. Waitrose bread gets mouldy really quickly.

Either works, however, it's just a bit of conversation to actually ask the officer/medic. At the very least, instruct him that you're looking to his rank.

Our ranks are visible on our uniforms, same with the UNMC. It's perfectly fine to address the person by their rank without having to ask. If you like, you could RP that you're ignorant to what rank someone is based on the fact the rank would be shown as an insignia rather than the actual word. Not everyone would know that 3 chevrons is a sergeant for example.

What we don't have on our uniform is a name badge.  It happens from time to time that a stranger will say my name them tell me it's on my name badge when challenged. That's a no no.

(4.2) Name Tags - You are not allowed to identify players in game via nametags. Police, NHS and UNMC ranks (only ranks!) are fine, as they “wear clothing with the rank on” unless they are undercover. (Not in their uniform or masked.) (Punishment is a kick/ban)

Seems to be fine, I've always said people by their ranks and never have people had a problem with it.
