Ram frequency influences FPS in Arma?

As far as I am aware, the frequency of the Ram is a limiter on how fast the CPU can clock up, so as you ramp up your CPU you need to make sure your Ram can also scale accordingly. so in applications that rely heavily upon pure cpu speed rather than bandwidth Ram could be quite a limiting factor. As a lot of systems now auto scale as required the base frequency of your ram could be setting an artificial cap.

I tend not to overclock things much any longer as I am now old and boring, so feel free to correct me if this is not the case any longer.

*edit, please when purchasing RAM do not just buy for the Speed, the CAS ratings are very important as well, Lower is better. fyi it's normal for DDR4 to have higher CAS than DDR3, that doesn't mean it's worse !

I just edited my DRAM frequency is the BIOS menu under AI tweaking.

Went from "Auto" to over 4000Mhz.

Don't know what it will do like. Hopefully something doesn't pop o_O.

BE CAREFULL WITH WHAT YOU DO IN BIOS!!!

You might end up doing something that make things melt. Worst case you'll end up with poison gas all around you.

yeah be careful in bios. Most hardware will self protect but some of the options in there will go beyond the self protection boundary's please excuse caution.

poisonous gas...... Well technically yeah chips burning out releases toxins, but you ain't gonna die from it. I've been round plenty of electrical fires and not had any issues.

Just trying to discourage people from going into BIOS^^ If they dont know what they are doing they are fucked.

I can't get into the BIOS on my computer since I went windows 10 :(

you must be able to, windows 10 wouldnt have any effect on the low-level firmware that runs on your mobo, weather it's a traditional BIOS or UEFI BIOS. You should just need to press something like Del, or F2 or similar, it should be shown on the splash screen when you turn your pc on, or if you look up the mobo manufacturer, it'll tell you exactly what to press.
