Questions about the Negotiator role in a Treasury robbery / hostage situation

Hi guys,

I have a few quick questions please about the Negotiator role in a Treasury robbery / hostage situation.

- Is the Negotiatior supposed to have a gun in his hands whilst performing the negotiations? (My understanding was a negotiator is neutral and shouldnt pose a threat).

- In the event where a civilian hostage has been taken, is the hostages life supposed to take priority?

- When a Negotiator has been told not to open any doors to the hostage building, and whilst Role Play is still ongoing, is the Negotiator allowed to defy the command, and open the door to shoot and kill the person who is holding the hostage, thus killing the Role Play?

If the answer is yes to the the last quesion, perhaps you guys could think about revising the rules for Negotiators to improve the Role Play aspect.

Thanks for the info and the fun evening :)

The negotiator / police can do whatever he wants really.

If you don't like what / how he's doing things, then plan your treasury job so that you're the ones in control.

Tell him not to approach, control his movements, make him drop his weapon, etc.

I was the negotiator that you are referring too.

you did not leave me many options, I turned up with all my weapons in my backpack, started negotiating, you did not give me many options, you kept stabbing the hostage, and then you continued to shoot through the door, I did not want the hostage to get hurt any more as you was abusing him both physically and sexually, I assessed the area, you was alone and had one hostage, I checed the building through the windows and knew you was in the corridor, you was shooting through the door so I knew you was near me so I new you was next to the door, I am very capable with my firearm so I knew the odds was in my favour, I took a chance I will admit but Risk vs Reward I could not and did not want the hostage to be hurt any longer so I opened the door and chose to eliminate the threat.

The Risk paid off, the hostage was safe, no officers was hurt, and the hostage taker sadly lost his life but it was a necessary risk that paid off.

Us as negotiators say what we have too, our aim is the life of the hostage, so we do and say anything to ensure their safety.

Ok thanks for the info and your reply :)

For info though I never shot through the door, I shot the wall in the corridor just so the shots could be heard.

I was a little disappointed with how long it took for the crumpets to arrive, that coupled with your reluctance to sing Jingle Bells led to the stabbing and mutilation of the hostage.

Was excellent fun though, cheers :)
